Mine's gone nowhere for the last couple of weeks, I'm awaiting the return of my refurbished wheels.

So nice getting sparkling wheels back to put on the car Need to buy a new 968 badge for the back got some white showing though

Got mine from Porsche Tonbridge - they come up on Ebay occasionally, normally for (a lot) more than I paid! 944.559.220.03 70 (possibly now 9445592200370C) £14.48 -10% PCGB discount + VAT 4th May 2011.

got a second hand boot badge, happy with that. opinions on cheaper tires, looking at a set of Nankang NS2 ultra grip, £200.00 of the bay of e, not worried about performance and stuff like that the car only does weekends and short trips. and definitely no track days

Nankang?! I had a mate with a 968Sport, who drove like miss Daisy. He came off a roundabout, skidded on very little standing water with those wonderful tyres, he was not doing more than 35, possibly 40 mph, hit the kerb, jumped it, the momentum of the spin made the car slide even more and eventually he came to a standstill against a tree when he slid down the embankment through loads of rosebushes and other low growth. The car had at least 8 layers of Swisswax on it, was immaculate inside and out, FSH, looked factory fresh, had a great history file in date order, but it was due its first restoration after being off-piste. Get yourself onto www.mytyres.co.uk, or www.camskill.co.uk, don't go for the N-rated marketing spiel and sniff out any deals that are going but for the love of god and the sake of your pampered car: DO GET DECENT TYRES. Cheers, Bert

I have been having a few problems with the clutch hydraulics since replacing the clutch, so I bought a Merc Slave cylinder off ebay for £10. its the same size, bolt holes in the same place pushrod a little to long (no problem) the only thing that stopped it fitting was the bleed nipple being in at the wrong angle. so I just gutted it for the piston and seals (perfect fit), now its much better but still not perfect.

Bought a 20mm diameter M030 rear anti-roll bar. Original spec is 19mm. Nigel Tufnel: These go to eleven. [:D]

Collected the car from EMC having left it with them a fortnight ago - this worked well for me flying home and then down to them. I'd never used them before or visited etc. Head gasket done, belts, water pump, clutch, some oil seals, service and a range other odd issues all fixed. Really impressed by them and found them thoroughly brilliant to work with. Really good at telling me what I don't need and why (for my requirements). The best thing about them is something that I may not be able to articulate particularly well. There is a 'local garage' feel about them which manifested itself in a type of service that made me (my car, my safety) feel important. That was confidence inspiring for me. Straight talking, excellent service. I'll be returning to them.... [:)]

And how is your bank balance now, bit lighter Glad you had a good experience, head gasket will be a diy for me

A lot lighter ! However, a fair bit cheaper than I suspect I would have paid in the South East - even if only based on some receipts I've had in the history file of previously owned cars. Sadly I don't have the skills, tools or time to DIY. It's a Porsche after all so I don't mind the odd very large bill every 2-3 years!

Got a big bit of leather from the local Autotrimmers cost me fortune £3.00!!! so set to work and had a go at retrimming the arm rest

Now starting to get it streched and glued together and the corners cut.
