Where is the Early 911 Register Secretary?

" It's Shut " [8|] unless you are one of the lucky ones, where the RS didn't manage to block you from seeing it. [:D]

I think that's a little unfair on the rest of us RS's. I for one would fight to keep my Register area open.

Don't tar us all with the same brush.[:'(]

Mark who's Taring you or ANY other RS.. That's 100% NOT what I have writen or emplied. There is as you know one RS that seams to not want any changes or any growth in that marque of Porsche, or want to open the forum to non memebers of the 356 model thus that section is reliant on the members who have left anyway. There for no one really can use it.. It might have been cleaver to do this.. but it just hightlights the problems when it comes to this model and attracting new owners and or possible new owners when they can't come to ask for advice.. They just go stright to DDK. Which is fine as I am the moderator there. But if the club wants to get new members then it needs to open up more. Esp in this area.

I think you get my drift. [;)]

OK - I read it that you felt the "Club" was going to be followiing a closed register policy on the forums.

I'm glad we sorted it out [:D]

As I understand it the 356 area was just supposed to require that people registered on the forums in order to see it. They did not have to be Club Members (at least, that's what the email I got from Nic said). Perhaps the permissions have gone wrong.

I'll see if I can work it out.

If there is to be a new R/S (has Phil resigned ? Is there a vacancy ? etc.), then what is the process for this ?

Ian
you volenteering ? Robin Walker (register director) is the man you need to speak to.

I've just re-read the past 4 pages of questions and concerns raised by 15 club members and I have to say it beggars belief that no-one of an official nature has bothered to even acknowledge this thread and the question it poses, let alone give any indication as to a solution.

The Early 911 Register has now been without an active secretary for the best part of a year, and I for one would like to know what on earth is going on!

The foundation of any club is that it exists to serve its members, so as this is an official PCGB forum could someone please give us an indication as to what steps are being taken to rectify this appalling situation.

I suppose its to much to ask for the person concerned to contribute, but perhaps the Register Director might enlighten us.

That is a good question. Is the club actively looking for a new RS? If not, it should be. There has been at least one volunteer; Helen have you heard back from Robin?

Yes, Robin is well aware of the situation and he has desperatly been trying to speak to Phil Taysom regarding this. As far as Robin is aware Phil has not officially stepped down.

I understood from Phil Taysom that he had officially resigned [:-] uumm, seems to be a bit of a comunications break down []

Phones to California always been a bit hard to reach .........................rest assured Robin really is trying

deadline for the next issue of PP is NOW.

so this would be an ideal time to make an announcment. and for the new R/S to introduce themselves to the early 911 community.

I think the time has long past for 'stepping down' and vague 'official resignations' this man should be removed from his position with immediate effect.

I ask again from the PCGB, what is going on!

Ha before we hang Phil i think it shouldbe reconnised just how much work he did do while he was in office. ok he didn't do write up for PP,but he did talk motorsport into giving us a pre94 track day, and he has completly gone through all the register records and updated them all onto computor( a very time consuming job) making it a lot easier for whoever takes over to pick up the gauntlet.

I am reading the posts on the Forum and will reply to them in my own time. I am at present just about to lead a group of PCGB members on this years PEYT to Austria on which there are two Early 911 cars out of 15. We leave on Friday 21st September and will drive about 2300 miles in the week. I am afraid that you will have to wait for my return before you know anything about what is going on, so keep on posting.
By the way my job becomes vacant at the next AGM and I have not heard any replies from anyone on the Forum about who might want to put themselves in the firing line for the next 4 years doing the Register Directors job...?
More info when I return from doing with my car what they were intended to do, be driven.

i guess thats a NO to me getting the job then ? [&o] it can't be that a difficult a decission can it [:-]

oh well have a great time in europe, its good to see one of the directors actually using their cars[8D] .......respect.

That is a great shame, Helen seems to be the only person interested in the job, and we all know she is highly motivated. I am sure she has said somewhere that her membership was due for renewal in the next week or so, it will be sad to loose her..... [:(]

yes thats correct it is. and as my heart is only with the early car now and the PCGB dosn't seem to be interested in them any longer i am questioning why i should continue being a member. [&o]

oh well i'm off to drive my sporto and cheer myself up. [:D]

Quite why we cannot get an answer today to this question is beyond me. Its a pretty poor state of affairs if the Register Directer seems more interested in packing his socks for his latest jaunt, than spending a few minutes telling concerned members what is being done to replace the Early 911 Register Secretary.

As for responding in his own time, this situation has been dragging on for nearly a year, how much time does he need!

Not impressed with such an arrogant statement tbh and that Helen has not even had any feedback on her request....starting to get bit disillusioned myself now with this 'Club'....Northern rock is better run than this[]

Has anyone tried emailing Philip....he seems to pick them up? I've got his personal ones if someone needs them.

Who knows who's putting themselves forward . . . . all I hope is, they're enthusiastic, relativeley knowedable, have the time, don't blow hot and cold when it comes to supporting the club and finally has the right personally to get on with people (but not to grate).

Make love not war [;)]

Phil

PS. . . Robin, enjoy your holiday.
