Hi All,
Latest news![;)]
Just returned from the OPC from specing WM. Here's the latest thinking:-
Carrera White
Black Basalt met. Wheels
Sports seats
Chrono Package Plus
Cruise Control???
Park Assist ??? (I'm elderly!)
Music player interface (Ipod etc. that's for my the kids!)
Auto dimming mirrors, rain sensor etc.
Red taillights
Thicker 3 spoke steering wheel

There are litterly 100's of available options, but adding features back into a car that's built to be functional is a bit counter-productive IMHO.
Build date July.

good choices !

we've just specced a 997S in white, with black wheels;
and pretty much your options too (but with heated seats)

except ours wont have a turbo..... :(

Nice car - well done! Heated seats are a good option but unavailable in the sports-seat package of GT2. Heated adaptive seats can be spec'd, but again this would be putting more weight back into the car.

PS Turbos can be a double edged sword! [;)]

Cruise control really handy for thoses average speed cameras!
Sue O

I had cruise control on my old 997 Carrera, and found it only ever useful when the roads are completely quiet. Any amount of traffic and the system is more hassle than it's worth.

That's why I didn't get it again for my Turbo as roads generally in this country are never quiet outside of 2-5am each day.

Brilliant news! :ROFLMAO:

I may now have a June build slot for my GT2, so I could be on the road for July - just in time for the Swiss cheese(y) tour!
Now the question is, should I wait until September for a new reg. numbers or just go for it at the earliest possible opportunity??? [8|]
Decisions, decisions!! []
Regards
Clive

A chance to get one of the most desirable cars just in time for summer OR wait until Autumn....?

Hi Tom,
Originally, it was July build/August delivery, but recent contact with my OPC suggests it may now be a month earlier, sooooooooooo we could be out on the Swiss run with it in August! [:)]
Stand by for further news. [;)]

Clive

Clive, I'm sure there wouldn't be too many complaints if we had to detour to collect it in August....:p

I think the GT2 is going to carry the white amazingly...

Excellent, it'll be so cool in white. I shall enjoy the noise of you dissapearing into the distance on the straights. [:D]

The swiss will hate it:ROFLMAO:

Hi Guys,
Sorry to be boastful but I just got back from driving some Lamborghinis!
Gallardo Superleggeras to be exact.
Prodigiously quick - 170+ down the mile straight at Millbrook. Would've been faster but the passenger started panicking at the 3/4 mile mark!
Needed a bit of hauling round the Alpine Circuit but really pretty nimble bearing in mind the big V10 lump that's in the back.
Told my dealer principal that I'd bought one and to cancel the GT2 , but he didn't seem to believe me.
Anyhow I came across some more photos I thought I would share with you.

Regards,
Clive

Hey Clive

1. How do you get to drive an SL at Millbrook??? I want a go!!

2. 170+ pretty good, just above a stock Turbo. Chris Harris recently got to about 190mph there the other day: http://teamspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2486

3. So did I read correctly that you have cancelled your GT2 order? Or were you joking? Had I the cash, my order of preference would actually be Ferrari Scuderia > Gallardo SL> Aston DBS > GT2. Sacrilege on a Porsche board I know.

Hi Alex,
1.) Being a top bloke helps!!! [sm=kiss.gif]
2.) That's fast but he was driving some special kit. Mine was standard, 2 up and from a standing start with a v. cautious guy riding shotgun. I think I actually managed 175 but I'm a modest chap [:)] and the speedo's difficult to read in the Lambo (analogue only). 'Corse the pros do cheat and sometimes start from a bit further back so they can get the real big numbers.[] Good full-bore gear changes but not yet up to the Scud. Faster than the TT though(165 but using ALL the road length)
3.) Just joking (I think [8|]). There's a new Gallardo being launched in Geneva next week. I'm there next Friday so I'll check it out!
Regards,
Clive
