Hi Guys,
Thought you'd be interested in the GT2 on the Porsche stand in Geneva this week.
Regards,
Clive

Cheeky yes, but wouldn't be necessary if Porsche actually concentrated on it's cars rather than it's take-overs and brought out some facelifts for us at Geneva!!

I was thinking more along the lines of:

- "Go on luv, get 'em off"

- "Now if you wouldn't mind gettin' out the way!"

The LP560-4 is the only newly revealed car of note in Geneva this year in my humble opinion [8D]

The GT2 looks superb in black, but I doubt it's a very practical colour - even this show car had a number scratches and swirls. I think you would be forever cleaning and polishing it and frightened to drive it!
Regards,
Clive

Is it Black? - looks more like Atlas Grey. Mine's Atlas and yes, it's a sod to keep clean and does seem very prone to even light scratches which show up white! It looks great in the sunshine though - when clean!

Hi Iain,
It is black, but Porsche Stand lighting is very deceiving. One of the on-hand staff told me they had been trying to get the paint finish just right for the show - but it had proved impossible in this colour!! []
Interestingly, white appeared to be the predominant colour throughout the show this year(except for Porsche).
Perhaps I should think again - after all I'm not wanting to be just one of the crowd! [X(]

Clive

Latest news! [;)]

Porsche GB are registering their GT2 demonstrator and are taking it to Millbrook for prospective customers to drive from the week beginning 31st March. This will be the first chance to find out what all the fuss is about - or if it's all been a big mistake. [8|]
My run's booked for Friday 4th. April - so mile straight and Alpine circuit here we come. [] Should be fun. [&:]

Stand by!
Regards,
Clive

Excellent news Clive, can you still remember the numbers you attained in your Turbo last time you visited Millbrook ??
Wonder what colour the demonstrator will be [;)]

Hi Gary,
165mph achieved in the 997 TT - but 175 reached in the Lambo Superleggera recently, although this did have E-Shift and this makes a big difference on the mile straight. [:)]

Is this right that the facelift 997 is going to have the DSG option?
Regards,
Clive

Have a fantastic time at Millbrook! Looking forward to hearing how easy (or not) the car is round the bends.

re: PDK (aka DSG) - latest story is that this will be introduced progressively on facelift: 2-wheel drive cars first then 4 later in 09 model year. Unclear whether Turbo will get it until 2010.

Clive

Good article - must be whetting your appetite for the Milbrook drive.....[:D]

Some how I suspect you wont be dissapointed, all the reviews I have read suggest the GT2 is a pretty astonishing bit of kit, even in light of the GT-R rave reviews.

From talking to my OPC DSG comes in for the cooking 911's - 2 wheel then 4 wheel but not the Turbo. So far as they are willing to say there are no plans yet for a DSG turbo - something about the 501 LbFt torque and what it does to a light DSG I believe. 2010 was also muted by my OPC guys for a possible DSG Turbo timeline.

Moral dilemma 2010 is about the right time to repalce mine - do I go with a turbo DSG, or mannual and wait to see how the DSG pans out.

Will be interesting to compare side by side your GT2 with my RS-Tuning Turbo on the autobahns in August Clive [:D]

Good luck keeping up with:

0-100 km/h: 3.3 secs.
0-160 km/h: 6.8 secs.
0-200 km/h: 10.4 secs.

is all I can say [;)]

...although I WILL start thinking of excuses now should you be faster (eg. I will have a LOT of luggage weight as the Swiss trip will be my honeymoon)
