Personally i don't get anything from RL, we have technical level here at least on the same level or perhaps a little bit higher. It also helps when you personally know all major players on the Finnish Porsche scene. What i don't like on RL is the fact you cannot say anything against RL sponsors. They can call you liar but if you do the same, you most likely get banned. That one RL supporter is famous of copying parts and they claimed we do the same and they are the innovative ones. Too bad my postings were removed and that thread was closed. People get now wrong information of it. OK, back to project. We are also going to have similar bushings for rear control arms. I hope we get also our new suspension within two weeks.

I agree the aggressive sponsoring and the typical American fashion of rewriting history is obnoxious at times... but Olli, if you were a RL member you would probably be able to post as much as you want with regards to the nice parts you make. As far as I'm concerned the wealth of information in older RL posts outweigh the drawbacks.
I got hassle on rl for questioning the reliability of some of it's posters. They all seem to know how to do jobs without ever having done them. This is very obvious from some of the answers and "advice " given. My rule is only post if you know what you are talking about. That way we all get good advice.
We manage to find complete 968 door panels with speakers and also rear side panels as well. Let's see how rear panels fit because the different shape rear side window. Project car's original panels were fixed but still not the quality level we wanted. Now we just have to find suitable seats to replace oem leather burgundy ones, have beige sports seats but son wants to have something lighter []
Since we are changing Motronic to Tatech we think possibilities to make installation a little bit easier. 968 & S2 use newer version of Motronic which has a bit different triggering than 944 & 951. A friend of mine will fabricate a 951 compatible flywheel with "modern style S2/968" 60-2 gears, so there will only be one crank sensor and we also get rid of the speed sensor. Might be possible that we will install another 968 & S2 style sensor on cam wheel. Another friend already made necessary CAD drawings and we are more or less to produce 951 60-2 wheel []
I was told it is more accurate compared to original one.At least Porsche also used it on newer Motronic versions. We are mainly looking for easier installation. I know also Mega Squirt, Vems, MoTech etc. are far more easier install with 60-2 triggering. Thomas, i will check out the dimensions you asked about 2.7L head tomorrow.
Had a design session with Antti yesterday. We would like to have a powersteering reservoir which does not leak like oem system does. Found this design from a BMW-forum. It's nice, but does not eliminate the major problem. We plan to use AN-style fittings which are superior compared to oem design. We toyed with an idea to produce similar style bow and oil catch tank made also form billet with AN-fittings. Tank from a BMW-forum:
Bow we have uses already a little bit same design than that PS-reservoir

Oli, the yanks love leverage, hope they dont claim this innovation as theirs ! keep up the good work George
George, they can take the credits of that BMW tank. Design of it have two major problems; 1.fittings are as poor as original one 2. big O-ring in the middle of the body, which wil eventually start to leak. We have already made CAD drawings and that design is totally different.
While i was putting Jaybird Hockey tape on some wires, son painted his burgundy dash and some other parts to black. First he washed the parts and used some silicon remove stuff [IMaGe]http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/olli951/DiamondBlue951/38d14d87.jpg[/IMaGe] Then fresh black paint
Painted parts looks in live like factory new Next items to be painted are 968 door panels, which are now blue
With 968 door panels came some other smaller stuff. Now we are a little bit mixed up, since we have now a good dark blue interior. With door panels (included all speakers) came parts like front & rear seats, dash, center console with analog watch, gargo area carpets, rear side panels. Test fitted today this blue interior and it suits surprisingly well with Diamond Blue exterior color. So we have to make a choice from Burgundy, Beige or Blue interiors []

Olli, Blue sounds great, like my old Scirocco Storm Turbo Technics.[] George 944T
Junior did some painting. Also this area was damaged by the engine fire. Area was easy to prepare after the damaged windshield was removed. Now there is a nice coat of satin black paint. Son also repaired wiring loom section which goes to heater blower and windshield wiper's motor. Now we are ready to install heater/AC unit and 968 dashboard
