I've got a Toyota Hiace, in French Turquoise. Pete, it might not be a modded, stealth-black T4 but you dare call me a poof! [sm=kiss.gif]

170K miles and still going strong! Last MOT was a bit of a let-down, as there was an advisory for one tyre: Toyota reliability finally let down by cheap rubber. [&:]

And still got the flippin' Legacy. Nearly 140K miles on it and can't agree what to change it for....it's just too good a car to be worth selling for a grand. [&o]

Mmm.....get you sweetie [;)].

Mmm.....get you sweetie .

Okay, so it's a completely gay van....[:D]

Trouble is, how do I replace it? I've become known as the gardener in the turquoise van, and after 5 years with it I'll lose my image if I change it for a more, let's say, macho colour.

My van is a common sight in Beaconsfield. Windows down, elbow out, and Bonnie Tyler on the stereo sing "Holding out for a Hero". :p

At the minute my fave other car is my XJSC 3.6 manooel ,all it's faults and floaty suspension are worth tolerating for that big bonnet

Does that mean you own one Mark? ;).

Yup I do.

Now that sounds like quite a change from what you usually own! A 3.6 Manual? Quite a rare find and arguably one of the best XJSs (most have probably gone to the racing circuit).

As in my signature, my daily drive is a BMW 123D hatch - a remarkable car really. And I also have an Ur Quattro that's currently in "refit". Can't wait to drive it again.

Just about to trade in my wife's Nissan X-Trail for a VW Tuareg to tow the race car!

Yup, gay as fuck!

And you think it's just the van?? [:D]

The Hi-Ace means only one thing here in this country - I dont wish to upset an ethnic minority but all the members of the "Travelling Community" drive them !! "Do ya want some tarmac boss ?"

So now Paul its either Gay or Traveller - You have the choice [:D]

Hi-Ace is a seriously good van and dosent have an equivalent in fairness !

Myself and the missus are down to 1 car now a 2.2 CDTi Honda Civic ! I do however still have the 83 (24 Lux (Needs a bit of TLC) an 83 Vauxhall Astra 1300S and a 1974 Hillman Avenger 1600 Deluxe..(needs a Both inherited when my father passed

I have a mondeo 2.5 v6 ghia x estate, great car and sounds lovely. Recently I put four new shocks on and a set of Apex lowering springs. You can hardly notice the 30mm drop and the ride is still lovely and compliant (it did wallow a little bit before)

Now that is interesting. I am in two minds with that car. Do I throw a bundle of cash at it and keep it going (I was eying up the Eibach/Bilstein combo which should do the trick if your improvements are anything to go by :)) or buy something similar but in better condition (which seems to be ÂŁÂŁÂŁÂŁ)? I could always put up with the car until its heart can beat no more...

If you mean the Bilstein B12 Kit, I can heartily recommend them. I was the first guy to fit these to the B5 Audi RS 4 (using S4 kit with small mods) and it was absolutely fantastic; a really popular set-up now, as it improves ride and handling massively over the (hugely over-priced) Audi stuff, plus they are well-priced and come with great warranties.

I'm one of the largely silent majority who find posting pictures on this particular Forum neigh on impossible! I have achieved success once or twice over the years, but can't remember how.

It's really very easy.
1) Create a photobucket account
2) Upload photos from your pc to photobucket
3) In photobucket, click on the photo you want to post and some options will appear on the right hand side of the screen
4) Click "direct"
5) Go to PCGB and click to create a post. Some option buttons will be available above the editing frame. One of them is "IMAGE".
6) Click on image and two pairs of square brackets will appear in the editing frame.
7) Place your cursor precisely inbetween the two pairs of square brackets and right hand mouse click. Click paste. The link to the photobucket photo which you chose as "direct" will now appear inbetween the two pairs of square brackets.

Your done. Click on preview if you want to check you chose the right photo to publish :)

I find it easiest to have two tabs open with PCGB on one and photobucket on the other and just flick between them.

Ok, let's have a poll. What rolls off the tongue the best....."Pikey Paul" or, "The Gay Gardener" ??? [:D][:D][:D]!
I'm known as "Pikey Pete'" round these parts! Can't think why.....[8|][:D]!

The fact that I even need to create a photo bucket account us where I lose interest. On the other forum I frequent you simply paste direct from your computer - so why the need for a whole extra process and account? I'll give it a miss.

I'm not sure if "the gay gardener" and "rolls off the tongue" should go together in one sentence? [8|]

Paul rushes off to read the forum rules again....[:D]

It's simply down to cost.

Hosting pictures costs a lot of money. The forum we have is pretty cheap, hence it being open to all, but it's ten years old or so, and the limits have obviously been supersceded long ago. You can post pics directly, but they will be limited in size to "useless". Most of the forums I use for work are the same.

If you use a hosting site like photobucket, then we only have to pay for the small link: they host the large picture file. It's really simple, and the alternative would be having adverts spamming you all the time to pay for a larger forum....

This site has been ad-free for it's entire existance, as that's what the membership wanted. The new digital media platform is imminent, so there will be changes to the forum then, I guess.

What a pity you're not going to the Silverstone Classic this year, Paul. Bonnie is playing there as the headline act on Saturday night.
