991 Owners Cars

My Porsche Life started in 1974 with a 911E 2.4 Coupe (Roman Purple), followed by a 1975 G series 911 2.7, then a 1976 Carrera 3.0 Coupe, then a 1977 Carrera 3.0 Targa Sportamatic, then a 1976 930 Turbo and in 1980 a 911 SC Targa. There was then a gap of just 39 YEARS....And finally in January this year I acquired a 991 Gen 1 Carrera 4S PDK Coupe in GT Silver. I love it!

Good afternoon, everyone

I'd been debating moving from a Cayman to a 911 for the last couple of months, and finally bit the bullet last weekend. I part exchanged my 987 Cayman 2.9 for 991 Carrera 2.

I've only managed the journey home from the dealership, and a couple of trips to the shop, but I've enjoyed every minute of each of them. This one's a keeper. I'm now thinking about booking the PEC Precision Course to explore the car's capabilities properly.

Many, many thanks to the Dove House Motor Company - Chris, in particular - for making the purchase process so smooth, for prepping the car so well and and for making the handover so enjoyable.

Many congratulations and welcome to the 991 family! :)

Am currently enjoying my second 911, a 991.2 Carrera T, after having had a 991.1 C2 initially.

Both great cars!

Many congrats! You’ll love it! I got my Carrera T just over a year ago and have done more than 15,000 miles already! Great car! [:)]

Thanks Simon

Like the colour of yours just not brave enough

Really looking forward to getting a 911 again, been without one for a year & cannot wait to drive & own it.

You are obviously enjoying your car 😊

Hi Paul,

Yep, loving it! The Carrera T is actually my 4th Porsche and second 911, but it’s my favourite car, so far!

Highly recommended!

My history is Macan 2.0 in 2016, then a pre-owned 991.1 C2, then a new 2017 Panamera 4 and now the T.

Getting some modifications done (shock, horror!) in July.

Enjoy your return to the 911 family! 😃

911T? That brings back memories, my first ever ride in a 911 was in 1973 in the then 911T 2,4, only 150 BHP, but to me then it felt really fast and I was hooked! I have had my 991.1 C4S for less than 3 months and it has already covered another 3,000 miles - more than its previous owner(s) did in over 2 years. These lovely cars are here to be driven not, just admired. Enjoy your new 911T !

Hear, hear! Over 15,000 miles in its first year for my 911 T! Saw a GT4 for sale the other day. 16 plate, so three years old and it had only done 1,129 miles! What a waste of a great car! [:(]

Hi Tony,

I’ve been to Litchfield Motors (near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire).

Have already had their suspension & handling modifications done. In July, am getting ECU remap, Remus exhaust, new sports CATs and new manifolds. Should give the T 480hp.

Google ‘Litchfield Carrera T‘ for details.

How did you find the car post suspension mods Simon? If you get the chance to record the exhaust before and after the Remus I’d love to hear the difference! Had Remus exhausts on bikes in the past – oh my, they make quite a sound.

Car is now on shorter and stiffer KW springs. The Carrera T comes with Sport PASM. These mods drop the car by a further 10mm at the rear and 20mm at the front. Now similar to GT3 ride height. The ride is only marginally more harsh, but still just fine for a daily driver. I’ve recently changed tyre pressures to part load/comfort too. Litchfield also changed the bushes. Steering feels great. Google ‘Litchfield Carrera T’ for reviews from motoring journalists who all seem highly impressed with the modifications.

Aye, I’ve got a subscription to Evo and they covered it a month or two back. It’s good to hear none-journo opinion though (massive assumption that’s not your day job [:D]). Have you got any side-on photos? Would like to see what the ride height looks like now. The T is the narrow body isn’t it?

After a short break I'm back and lucky to have acquired a lovely Agate Grey 991.2 Targa 4S.....she's a beauty....

Very smart indeed! Congratulations! Enjoy!

I am thinking of having a (Official Porsche) Power Kit fitted to my 991.1 Carrera 4S. Does any one have any thoughts as to whether this is a good idea, albeit a bit expensive...? Cheers!

And I like that Agate Grey 991.2 Targa 4S - a great choice - enjoy it and drive it!

That sounds like a great fleet, particularly the Targa 4S - saw a Tesla today - it scared me because it was totally silent - well I know I am deaf (thanks to being a bit too close to an IED in 1972 - otherwise unharmed!)
