992 Coming Shortly
- Thread starter Phil_Graham
- Start date
Only spec'd mine a couple of weeks ago with a last minute change to a cabriolet but still retaining the build completion date of 15 March. I suspect it will be later than that as the dealer launches have been put back.pwebb said:Strange article from EVO as most of the items mentioned are already available - carbon roof, gold (satin aurum) wheels, Porsche crests on the seats (and glovebox). All too late for me anyway as my spec is now locked for February build and April delivery - can't wait.
I was hoping to have it for the trip to Stuttgart and Leipzig (31 March) which was posted last week in the 991 Newsletter as a first event for potential 992 people and any 991 member who is interested in joining us. I don't think there will be any 992's on the trip but I'm looking forward to driving my gen 1 991 Targa 4 which has just been tango'd with orange stripes to complete the Gulf look.
Presently my V300 (vehicle completion is 1st March. with the delays in the launch nights, I am hoping for end of March delivery.

When I used your code to look up your spec it said the front foil protection was being 'removed' from your order - assume this was the PPF and they decided no longer to offer it from the factory.
Nice looking car btw......

I believe that the option is only available on the dealer configurator but PPF is definitely on my finalised order.
Here's the standard spec with the tab top left above the picture: https://cc.porsche.com/ic...%2fmodelstart%2fall%2f
I'm looking into driver training at Millbrook with a Friday and Saturday session for 6 cars per day using our own cars. 2 instructors 120 mins driving time using all of the Millbrook facilities.
Also trying to arrange a couple of 992's down at Cornbury House for a day allowing half hour accompanied slots.
It's looking like Llandudno will be the first outing with rooms at St George's Hotel still available with the Anglesey Track Day Saturday and Porsches on the prom Sunday.
We now have 10 people for the Stuttgart/Leipzig factory trip 31 March-7 April so room for 10 more.
Exciting times!

Are you chatting to CAT Driver Training per chance Phil? They're absolutely fantastic for driver training if not. I wrote up about my experience last year (if it helps)…

Phil, my Sales guy also noted that according to their presentations the engine has been moved forward 20cm. That’s a lot. And he reckoned it made a big difference to the balance of the car. I’ve heard that figure before, but not mentioned in the press reports. Are you aware of that?Phil_Graham said:Chatting to the sales guys at Wilmslow yesterday and they were really impressed by the 992 out in Majorca last week. They were driving 2 & 4 S's with the 991 gen 2 GTS's as a comparison. They couldn't believe the improvement in the general look and feel of the car and both commented that the 991 felt quite old after the 992.

Although I have been a member for a while now this is the first time I have posted. I currently own a 996 Turbo with the factory X50 engine upgrade and a 991.2 GTS coupe.
I have just placed an order for the new 992 C4S cab (will replace my GTS), both of my previous Porsches have been in silver the current GTS is GT silver and I was tempted to go with that again for the 992. However, I have gone with the satin black wheels and black sports exhaust as I like the GTS black trim look (sadly centre lock wheels not yet available on 992). However rather than silver I have opted for Crayon. Just wondered what your views were on this spec?

Also I have been told I have an April delivery date, do you think this is likely? This is the first Porsche I have ordered from new as the GTS was a few months old when I purchased that so not sure how accurate these dates are.
