Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

[] Hope this Spyder wasn't stone cold when he decided to drive it but as its OPP (Other Persons Porsche) he definitely didn't drive it like he owned it [&:]

price are daft on 718 atm, very high.

the 987 at Ashgood was a great price but then it sold in the same day, imo was too cheap at £45k for that spec but hence it sold so fast i guess.

Benefitting from a full body application of Paint Protection Film by Topaz Detailing, the Rhodium Silver bodywork presents in excellent condition. With black leather/Alcantara interior, complete with contrasting yellow stitch. Highlights to the extensive specification include PCCB Carbon Brakes, Sports Chrono Package Plus and a set of Sports Bucket Seats. Furthermore, the inclusion of both Rear-View Camera System and both Telephone and Navigation Modules for the PCM System ensure a high level of practicality and usability to this wonderfully dynamic and precise sports car. Being built prior to the fitment of noise robbing OPF filters, this example was specified from new with the Porsche Sports Exhaust System but has subsequently had an Akrapovic Exhaust System installed really allowing the naturally aspirated flat 6 to be heard. The original OEM Porsche Sports Exhaust is also included as part of the sale. Another sympathetic modification is the fitment of Houndstooth ‘911R’ Centre Sections to the Carbon Bucket Seats which provide the interior with a wonderful heritage vibe (the standard inserts will also be included as part of the sale). I wouldn't care too much about the OPC having favourites (way of the world). What I object to is the lack of transparency in how they decide, especially against the much trumpeted 'Total Transparency' initiative re: servicing prices etc. It's a bit like those public sector jobs that are advertise and certain people get a tap on the shoulder and advised how to focus their application.

Final 718 Spyder incarnation launched today for the very lucky few who know how to massage Porsche into bagging one of these rarities

8m.20 The back to the future roof set up [;)]

not for me it it were normal times.

30mm lower = no thanks

PDK = no thanks

centre locks = no thanks

that roof = no thanks not on this car it's too fast for the 124mph roof up limit. looks = really not that great looking either !

plus point is that engine, but I sold my GT3 as it was too fast for the UK so again no thanks really. I'll have one if offered though it's a free car to play with and you make £100k TAX free when you sell it !! that's todays issue with GT cars they pay to to have one !!! As a car to drive in the UK it's very flawed in that spec ! , as a car to track it been detuned on the sus so not a track car either !

At overs you would be able to buy a 992 GT3 PDK and a 987 manual Spyder and still have £50k left over to run them both !

Nice to see the 987 Roof being used ,always said it has the nicest roof line of all the Spyder's.

Limited to 120 in an RS ...

Pretty much my sentiments. Not sure what the use case for this is. Surely not a serious track car he t clearly too fast for the road - you’d have to drive top down at the track given the roof limit? How come the GT4RS needs that ott spoiler stuck on the back but this manages without - odd. And those air intakes seem like a clumsy/lazy/cheap solution.

Majority will spend their lives near unused I would imagine.

Feels to me like a way of spreading development costs over a few more units - as with a number of areas Porsche product development has lost its way imho. Not the only automotive company to have done this though.

Cash Cow to contribute to ongoing EV dev costs...and fits with recent policy announcement to "squeeze the customer until the pips hurt"

So it’s only me that loves it then? Love it enough to even send in my configuration to OPC to request a car and haven’t been laughed at yet! Love the nod to the 987 roof which will put a lot off the car but was never a problem on 987. Yes I wish it was a manual but hey the plus point is shorter ratios.

I think like the 4RS they are going to build a fair number probably equal to 987 CR/Spyder numbers (about 2000 each)and hopefully the flippers are dwindling due to rising interest rates so I may if all the planets align be in with a chance but i am a realist as not a serial buyer!

I can't see how the flippers will be put off by interest rates they can easily pre-sell there slot before the car ever reaches day 1 on the production line and looking at GT4RS premiums I would imagine a tax free flip of circa £50k won't put off a single flipper

I have had a LOI with a dealer (whom I have a buying and servicing record with) for about 2 years now and guess what - I don't fit today's criteria for one [&:][:'(]

Loyal Porsche Petrol heads no chance Flippers come on in the :ROFLMAO:

Daro.

Doesn't surprise me anymore with Porsche they don't seem interested in enthusiasts who cherish and would love these certain so called cars and would be ambassadors for the model.

With a good buying record from PCs and over 23 Porsches owned the majority serviced at PCs I as many have stayed loyal to the brand.

For what I now question myself.

I had my name down for the first generation GT4 for 2 years I was number 2 on the so called list did I get one no all of a sudden I am way down the list after a moan and rant I was told they have to offer these so called cars to certain criteria.[:'(]

I was the put down for a guaranteed Spyder did we get one er no.

Since then tried for a Boxster 25th same thing that will be a no.

Currently down for 718 Spyder for few months but probably same outcome as production has now stopped.

The kicker is they have they nerve to offer me base cars or used GT4 Spyders 25ths

At way over list prices .

Really disillusioned with this whole process of who these cars are allocated to.

Really won't be bothering in the future I am not into electric anyway like yourself a petrolhead enthusiasts .

enjoy your full tank.[:D]

I got one of the 1st GT4 in the UK and part ex that for a 991.2 GT3

people do get these cars, a few are flipped but go to any PCGB track day and there are many many GT models bombing round all PC members in GT3's and GT4 not flipped !! in fact every track day now is mainly Porkers. SPyder RS holds no interest for me seems an odd model in the line up. Would like a 911 ST due out but you need >£1 mil spend now days to get a look in. If you want a GT car goto the DP say which 2 cars you stuck with in the showroom, offer to buy them and sell them to redline, might cost you £20k, but you make £80k on a RS

people who moan refuse to play the game on some moral ground and then still moan when 4 years later they don't have a car ! My GT4 I got with no games, my GT3 I offered to buy 1 car in the show room and part ex the GT4 back. I lost £6k at the time, but got a GT3 kept it 4 years used it and sold it for a proffit so even over the last 8 years with my OPC and had 2 free cars to use for 8 years !

fed up with this flipper bullshit on here and every forum. some of the guys who get the cars jump though hoops and make no money as they part ex back at list. I wont get another as I did not give my GT3 back to my OPC as their offer was too low. I got £15k more for it elsewhere and knew I did not want any future GT car anyway.

You cannot buy one new car every 5 years and expect to get an RS ! same with Rolex, I wanted a Daytona, so paid £22k for a £11k watch, is what it is, I can sell it for more than I paid for it even at £22k. Like wise you pay overs for a GT car you can sell it for overs ! where is the issue ?

718 Spyders are at list or below with a few miles if you want a 718 Spyder just buy a 2nd hand one cheaper than it's new price ! Great bloody car, I paid about £10k over list for my 718 Spyder. But I have one and prices are up so again a none issue paying overs.

Do you know the final tally of 718 Spyder's manual & pdk as that will have a baring on future residuals which I imagine will stay very firm

I don’t think we will know exactly how many cars until Q1/2 2024. DVLA figures currently up to 31/12/22 and they are still building.

A guess for final tally 718 Gt4 all about 1200-1400 and would say Spyder 500-600.

RS models I think will be about 200 of each.

All purely guess work

Be interesting to see the final outcome but I think your guess work may suggest don't buy a lottery ticket today save the money instead if 981 figures are a guideline at all :ROFLMAO:

981 Stats:- 227 Spyders & 595 GT4’s
