Very, very nice! Flake popping Jeff's acrylic? Go faster stripes aside, how far do these interesting colours/colour combinations give an improved (or disapproved) impression of speed?

I'm surprised at you Spydermen! Here is a clue, I have just taken this in my garage, I'm not getting the car out to clean first as the rain is too heavy [:(]

picked my new Cayman up this morning and was very disappointed that wheels do not match standards of you guys. Crests all over the place and as for locking wheels nuts. Assume I will have to correct them myself

Mine were done for me. I did collect my car the day R18 was holding its concours competition at the supplying OPC - I could have won but lost points for missing a PCGB sticker [:D] Enjoy your new car!

The CR is looking very tidy MrD[:)] Peridot was a real surprise from Porsche and I don't recall it being used on any other car? Do you know how many CR's are in the UK? I notice very few owners are on here.

ORIGINAL: homerdog A couple of rare Germans! The tank was given the name 'Tiger' by Ferdinand Porsche.

And they're both as tough as each other [;)] H14PDB congrats on getting a new Cayman. What did you have before it and how does it compare?

I'm hope you started with a good foundation courtesy the supplying OPC[:D] but it does look very good from my screen and would have been my first choice colour for a CR ... enjoy

ORIGINAL: flat6 As for side stripes, watch this space [;)]
ORIGINAL: rob.kellock The go- faster stripes definitely give a performance advantage. FACT. [:D]

I've been collecting some stripeless Spyder pics over the past few weeks since we saw this red car looking bare.

What is it about a side stripe that makes the car look so different without it. Does it help to frame the shape of the car or something? Here are some pictures. I've included some cars with stripes. Scroll through them quickly to the end and then look back at them later.

The cars with stripes are not Spyders. Those 2 Boxsters, being striped and in the launch colour, white, are pre-programmed to the brain to be assumed to be Spyders. OK, some of you will have spotted them straight away, but I can see why the owners of those cars chose to add the stripes. It does look good, but it's just a stripe isn't it?

flat6 good research and if any one ever doubted which look is better I think your collage has well and truly answered that one. For the record if you strip your stripe from your Spyder the next owner wishing to reinstate it with the genuine Porsche Stripe will be stripped of £520.00 in todays money excluding refitting charge :ROFLMAO:

£520!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember this one with the strips breaking off. I hope it was sorted under warranty!! Maybe they don't stick so well to red paint[:D]

Unfortunately I can confirm similar damage in same position on my White Spyder but the edges had started to lift and not actually break off. That front section was replaced while I waited under warranty [;)] I can also confirm the "copy stripe" circa £60 off fleebay can be fitted to end inside the lip of the arch eliminating the chance of lifting I suffered. One of flat6 Boxster pictures is my pals ex car and I sourced the stripe for him and if you look closely you can see the edge finishes inside the arch, door edges and not just before each panel ends like the factory fit on the red car above[;)]

Interesting observations about the stripes. My wife's Abarth has stripes that go "round the corners" so to speak. I'd read that the Porsche route of "stopping short" was the better solution to reduce the risk of the stripes lifting. Fortunately both our cars are ok so far. I think the stripes lift the look no end (of both cars!)
