I must apologise. I had a quiet word with him as soon as I noticed and he took it down! Don't think there are any roof compromising top speeds available at Oulton in a road going Spyder. Think I got up to around 110 in a couple of places although I can't say I was really checking all that often!

Top speed is 124mph with the roof up. I was getting to about 110mph at the end of straights, governed by how quickly I exited the previous corner. I did the last 2 runs top down but next time I will 'have' to take the roof off []ORIGINAL: daro911Roof up! Top speed down [] I thought you were meant to be going for it big time flat6 as in flat out tooORIGINAL: flat6Yep, "fun" is the word[]:ORIGINAL: rob.kellockRoof down the entire day which was a bonus - the roof up pics were just before we left and it was cold and dark! Funnily enough we were talking about you and the dismay you would encounter with the state of our cars at the end of the session. Cecil's photos flatter a bit although Mike's shot of mine shows how bad it had got! Lack of rain didn't mean the track was dry although there was a dry line round most of it by lunchtime. The most fun you can have with your clothes on! Bring on the next one.ORIGINAL: daro911 Great shots Flat6 and looks like it was dry enough even for my garage queen []
[] Hadn't seen this post when I posted. It's a shame the PM session went so quickly before I could get a chance to ride on board with you and vice versa. We could've compared speeds around the track. Next time[]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock I must apologise. I had a quiet word with him as soon as I noticed and he took it down! Yeah, that was a shame. You'll have to do all day next time. Must do another one by May, would be a shame to waste the free insurance ;-)

Andy The Spyder would be perfect for you. 80kg lighter than the S and 10 hp more than the S. I think 75 bhp more than the 2.7. Bespoke sports suspension, wider rear track and corners really flat. Yet, has the same running costs as the S. Having seen what you did in the 2.7, the Spyder is all you'd need [] http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/trackdayvideos/278347/video_audi_r8_spyder_v8_v_porsche_boxster_spyder.html http://www.porsche.com/uk/aboutporsche/pressreleases/pcgb/pressreleases2010/?pool=uk&id=2010-03-24

Why have they tried to reinvent the sun cap concept with that mad looking rear window rail effort [&o] What happened to keep it simple Simple[] What is that rear spoiler all about[] Bet this doesn't come cheap eitherORIGINAL: flat6 986 Spyder [link=http://blog.tunersmall.com/2012/08/27/986-porsche-boxster-spyder-kit-by-tuners/]http://blog.tunersmall.com/2012/08/27/986-porsche-boxster-spyder-kit-by-tuners/[/link]
You could have cleaned it ;-)
Good point well argued Rob []ORIGINAL: rob.kellock You could have cleaned it ;-)
I'm all argued out today! I quite like that 986 kit. Swap Spyder for Cayenne Diesel with trailer, get Spyder kitted 986 for track day smiles, get sponsored by Flat6... Like Baldrick would say, a cunning plan...
That kit won't be cheap I bet so flat6 will need to make a decent offer otherwise I'm sticking with the Garage Queen [8D]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock I'm all argued out today! I quite like that 986 kit. Mmm... Think you're right. Am sure the Zymol will have done a good job on mine and that it will scrub up well enough - Saturday morning Court didn't help my detailing regime... The thought of a stripped out 986S, stickered up for a laugh, electric roof swapped for clip on hardtop, refreshed suspension etc is quite appealing though in a parallel universe inside my head.
That'd do nicely. []
