ORIGINAL: VvrooomM Who can remember how the roof works? It's been off for so long even as a daily driver!!

Sorry it is pic 8 ..so a know fault . Daro 911 could you post up a pic of the inside bit you are talking about so i can check out mine . Re the hood instructions that is not quite accurate .The bit when you release the eye from the hook on the passengers side there is a small flap that you tuck the weighted bit in as it stops it hitting the bodywork as you roll the hood forward from the hopped bit .I hope i am making myself clear Look at you manual Page 153 illustration 5 and it shows the flap i am talking about . Being a patriotic Royalist Scot i am going out to celebrate the birth of the new baby boy king ......if you believe that well [:D][:D][:D][:D]

ORIGINAL: daro911 Spydermen is there anyone in the world more OCD than me [:D] I have the same damage and it is a design fault and even if Porsche would yet alone could fix the issue FOC how long before it happens again!   Have any of you got the similar fault inside the rear boot where the manual lid stay seems to rub away a spot of paint and no matter how many times I touch it back in  the area damage reappears [&o]
No missing paint in my rear boot that I've noticed. My black bar that runs across the roof and that connects in to the rollover hoops has been repaired under warranty - well, actually it was powder coated. This is because it had rubbed through to bare metal on the corners where the roof touched it. It's just as bad again now.

Brian you're right about where to tuck the cable. I don't use it though. Mine is quite tight and the amount of time I have the roof on an off it'd no doubt induce wear. Daro, i'll check in the rear boot tomorrow but i've never noticed that. robK, now you've given me something else to check!! Sorry to add to the list but hopefully mine is nothing. Yesterday I noticed the car had done a piddle on the drive. Looked to have dripped from somewhere inward of the near side front. Move the car and felt the liquid. Seemed to be pure water. Had to nip out. When I came back I noticed another little patch where the car now was. Checked the engine water level which was fine. Topped up the washer bottle. Nothing since. Did a bit of googling and there were suggestions it could be condensation from the air con unit. Was chatting to a mechanic today and he said the same before I could even finish the story. Have you guys had this?

Air con condensation and in current humidity no surprise at all My damage seems to be done by the rear fixing point on the stay arm

just done a awesome track day. was just about the fastest thing out there tonight, took my 7mm spacers off the R and put them on the Spyder, perfect. I need a go pro or some thing for next time. Talking of the roof, I had to stop on the hard shoulder as the biggest blackest cloud was looming up, got it fitted with 10 seconds to spare before the heavens opened up. Massive storm. and even at 20 mph was aqua planning with my R spec tyres on, but the M1 was a river. good news is it's the best way to clear your wind screen from the dead flies :)

Don't need air con up here ...just a good heater [:D][:D] defo your air con unit condensation Was told to run your air con periodically even in the winter as it stops the seals from drying out . The rain that is due to fall will test the hoods on our cars over the next few days [;)]

I thought exactly the same thing!
All sing along with Rob in Scotland! After Three, One, Two, Three By yon bonnie banks, And by yon bonnie braes, Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond, Where me and my true love Were ever want to gae, On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Oh! ye'll take the high road and I'll take the low road, And Rob take the centre road, [;)] And I'll be in Scotland afore ye; But me and my true love Will never meet again On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
I think John has got sunstroke :ROFLMAO:

They are very subtle, but I really think they look great. Just back from my hols, had my new purchase serviced at OPC Byfleet (great guys in there), and had my wheels completed..... Thanks for recommendations for Chris at Exel wheels, he did a fantastic job.... even left me with some wheels to use when mine were being done - cant recommend him highly enough. What do you think.....?

I'd just overtaken a Cayman R. [;)] Siy - your wheels look great and it's nice to see someone enjoying a bit of individuality.

Looks good Siy[:)]. Maybe also get the silver surrounds on the side and front air intakes done in the same colour? It seems that once you upload a pic, when you're viewing it you get the link to it. So you can also post the full pic on the back of the upload:

ahhh that's better! Yes - funnily enough have just spoken to specialised paintwork in Reading, and awaiting quote for those 4 silver surrounds to be matched... was toying with the idea of the stickers too - but decided against changing them ... I think the little touches on those surrounds should look ok.
