Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: Fire_2 Not sure I would recommend super sports over the Bridgestone n spec tyres for the track (in the dry) They got better as the day went on and a few heat cycles but the sidewall is pretty soft!
I would :) but I would say don't use any road tyre on track they just don't work at 50 to 60 drgree which is what's going to happen after about 4 laps, so seems pointless. not a SPyder but a 3.8 Boxster for sale Ruf with 420Bhp :) http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/ruf/2013-ruf-3800s-roadster--brand-new-unregistered/1679658#

ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Yes as in I don't have another *car* but I don't use it every day. I tend to use my van for just nipping to shops etc as I don't like to do lots of short runs from cold. I only did about 5k per year in my Boxster.
What you need is one of these[:D] The Porsche Cayman Shooting Brake[&:]

now we are talking that is beautiful and I would sell my spyder for one of those but you are looking at a £100k !!!

thinking about it I would love to give the spyder the ruf treatment but only in the engine department and it would work out a lot cheaper than a ruf 981 and be the better car a 420hp spyder!!!!

I will have some interesting news by Sunday :) regarding power increase if that's the route you wanted to take with your SPyder.

Tell me more...cant wait till Sunday - ooooohhh that's not fair!!!!

some one I know has put the items I was thinking about on his car and has had a RR done, but is a bit suspect (read high figure) but Saturday he is taking a stock car and his modded car to Surrey RR who will give him a correct reading. I am looking forward to the dyno from that RR. put it this way the 1st RR was 370BHp but anything over 350BHp will be a good result and it will be great to overlay a stock car with his new mods done at the same time by a trusted RR outfit. The last person who went all happy on Pistonheads about his DMS remap and high readings went to Surrey RR and ended up with a 5BHp gain lol. I am sure this time this car will be over 350Bhp + if it's 360BHp + it going to take some stopping me buying the bits lol.

Equal tube HSK sports cat Manafold with 2 less cats Vflow filter Softronic remap IPD plenum with GT3 throttle body Ti rear exhaust section. should be 350BHp + imo lets hope it's nearer the 370Bhp from the 1st RR. that would give our Spyders a very nice BHP/weight ratio. I am just going to do the manifold and see what happens atm as I think that's the biggest BHP gain to be had.

Just had a look at that. Did you read the article? It was quite interesting to see how they wanted to appear to give it authenticity: "Here's the full timeline of the scam 8:29AM- Video/Blog Post goes live on Topgear.com 1:00PM- Story submitted by dummy to reddit.com 1:15PM- Story submitted by dummy to digg.com 1:50PM- Thread submitted by dummy on www.planetporsche.net Cayman chat forum 2:45PM- Thread submitted by dummy on porscheclubgbforum.com Cayman chat forum 3:19PM- First reference (user comment) that questions video's authenticity (on TG US site)" This very site was used!

Someone like me who only likes topless motoring [8D][:D][;)]

The current modifications I have on my car are: Remus Ti2 Race Exhaust: IPD 'Competition' 82mm Plenum: With the GT3 Throttle Body. Evolution Motorsport V-Flow Intake (+Synthmax filter): FabSpeed Sports Headers (200Cell): Softronic Remap: these are all the mods and come to in excess of £6k so it wants to be at least 360 crank hp

so who will get under 7 minutes in these new super cars they are all there atm trying for times 918, P1, La Ferrari ? the P1 sure does look the part. but will go faster with some one not 17 stone in it I guess lol
