Wouldn't like to have to pull him out of there in an accident [:D][:D][:D]

Can someone run me through the sport and sport plus effects on the Spyder please? Is it just throttle map changes and shift speed changes with PDK? Thanks

Yes and in Sport Plus mode it will hold the gears right up to the red line and don't forget the party trick Launch Control [;)]

Thanks guys, forgot about the PSM adjustment. Never tried launch control in the M3 as there seems to be a lot of rumours it voids warranties after multiple uses. As I've got a 2 year warranty I want to keep it intact, how do Porsche view launch control starts? Obviously you wouldn't do start after start but the odd one would be an interesting experience!!

At the PEC they claim Porsche launch control is so well within the cars capabilities it can be used as often as you like with zero issues! They assured me the cars at the PEC get a lot of launch control usage and no issues Porsche engineering at its best [:D]

Some food for thought between cake and jelly[:D] This was the state of play on Pistonheads & OPC's 1 year ago when this thread kicked off ...... The lowest amount of Spyders seen at OPC during this period was one silver car at OPC Wilmslow with a strange spec of PCCB's, sports seats and extra alcantara a car Spyderman Rob K took a look at and wasn't impressed by the condition at all if my memory is right[:D]

Happy Birthday gents! My pal wanted to buy the Wilmslow car, I'm sure they would have prepped it to his standards if they could have agreed a price to change that was mutually agreeable. I think he ended up getting £7k more for his Boxster privately than their best offer. They were playing on it being the only one available though, I'm sure. It went to a chap in the club who had a matching classic silver 911, possibly pre impact bumper. That screen grab you posted above is interesting - Some people must have been able to run a Spyder for free/profit if they bought then and sold earlier this year.

Great article in this month's EVO, called Future Icons. The Spyder was included in a list of 44 cars based on "market knowledge" and driver appeal. They then picked their ten favourites and Richard Meaden (who owns a 964 RS) drove them all. This is what he had to say about the Spyder: Last to be driven... is the sublime Porsche Boxster Spyder. Here was a lightweight Porsche that proved the... RS models were not the only way to achieve greatness. In fact, in purely dynamic terms the Spyder is a much more amenable road car than any recent RS 911. Every element of this car is so perfectly wrought, so cohesive and consistent, it's as near to flawless as you're ever likely to get. This, then, is a Porsche for the absolute purist... you can't help but be utterly seduced. Which (of the ten) would I choose? It's the beautifully wrought Boxster that already has me monitoring the classifieds. So, great praise indeed; it's well worth buying the mag to read the whole article and to see the great cars it was up against. The only thing wrong with the car they tested, was that it was the wrong colour and had the wrong wheels!

When I was buying my R I noticed that Wlmslow weren't shy with their asking prices and also pretty shoddy with P/X prices. I think they must be used to dealing with million pound a week footballers [;)]

I need to get a copy of this to keep in the car .... Very much underlines what at least 6 PEC instructors have said to me over the years since launch[;)]
