Thanks guys. Thing is, I don't know if I'll still have the Spyder by then[&o]. A 2 seater car no longer fits my personal circumstances and so it's time to look for a 4 seater i.e. 911. Having 2 cars doesn't work for me so I wouldn't keep the Spyder and buy a 2nd car. I like to drive my best car as much as possible so would hate driving the second car (unless it was also a Porsche, but running 2 Porsche isn't what I want to be spending on). Looking back at this pic when I first picked up the Spyder, will it be regrettable to let it go? For sure it will. It's also now or never to get a 911 on my CV whilst my son can still fit in the back of one[ORIGINAL: Andy FaganAgreedORIGINAL: rob.kellockGet it booked - wouldn't be the same without you!ORIGINAL: flat6 Not sure yet if i'll be at Oulton Rob.

Very sad news for this corner of the web [
] but having been their before myself I know the dilemma of letting a special car go but at least you are sticking to the brand[
] So who hasn't got a Spyder but would like a cracking example this could be the one just for you[8D]

In total the whole weekend we did approx 1100 Miles and averaged on the return today 34.7 MPG got no less than 32 on any part of the weekend .My 2.7 used to get an average 31 so pleased with these figures. BrianORIGINAL: daro911 Brian how many miles did you do on that Tipec trip
Brian - you're not trying hard enough! Mine is worse on fuel than my 996 was and I never get those figures out of it! Flat6 - book it anyway. If you do the deed you're only going to get a 997 turbo so you'll be in good company with Jeremy!

Morning Do you guys use battery conditioners on your cars? How good are the OEM batteries? I'm going to try to get the car out at least once a week for a drive for now but looking at the weather forecast it might be sitting for a while, am I likely to have issues with a 2+ year old battery? Probably get a CTEK MXS5.0 conditioner for the winter, what do you all use?
I have used a conditioner since the late 1990's when I was told the reason my Speedster batteries were only lasting 3 years was because when the battery is low the stress placed on the plates when starting is what causes one plate to fail sooner rather than later and new battery being required[&o] I then purchased from my local Porsche dealer a very basic looking conditioner which I have used for nearly 20 years! It's just a plug with a red glow light on when charging usually goes off after 3-5 hours and a cigarette adaptor connection at the other end. The 3rd battery purchased for the Speedster was still going strong 7 years later when I sold the car All my following Porsche have never suffered a battery failure and my experience to date has been exactly what these conditioners claim on the box and I have a very basic looking set up compared to what you can get today but until it stops working no need or point for me to upgrade Mine looks like this but has Porsche Logo on it and also cigarette lighter plug where this has the crocodile clips[ORIGINAL: Big E Morning Do you guys use battery conditioners on your cars? Well after reading this http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=10&t=1330249&nmt= I've just ordered a CTEK conditioner!ORIGINAL: MrDemon I like the cheap ctek units and you can keep them hard wired in all the time, no messing about with clips and battery covers etc.
One owner car. Possibly another one up for sale after the owner has finished paying off the finance and looking to change up. Maybe another year before all such cars have been passed on at least once. My highly accurate prediction is 2014 before Spyders drop below 5 for sale nationwide[8|][ORIGINAL: daro911 Fresh stock and seems priced to sell for a 2011 low mileage example[] http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/boxster-987-05-12/porsche-boxster-987-gen-ii-spyder------------------2011/1698614
