Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: billy1
ORIGINAL: flat6 It's a fair point. A picture is a small price to pay for membership into this exclusive club[:)]. On the Internet, things aren't always want they seem, some aren't who they say they are, others copy and paste knowledge found elsewhere claiming it as their own, but offering some authenticity will boost your credibility [;)]
Thanks for the offer but whether or not I'm considered "authentic" or "credible" doesn't really bother me. I could, of course, find a random Spyder pic and claim it as my own but I'd rather be honest and say that I'd simply prefer not to post up pics or details of my car. Some people are "[over]sharers" and others prefer to be more discrete. Surely that is a personal choice? Whether you or others believe that I have one or not isn't going to cost me any sleep! I very much enjoy contributing to this thread and don't believe that such participation needs to be "bought" with anything other than enthusiasm for these terrific cars.
Billy Billy Billy, please don't take light hearted banter so literally. Of course you don't need to 'buy' your way in[&:] I knew you'd say you could post a random internet picture. That's why I said not everyone is what they seem anyway. I don't lose any sleep over who is who on here. I've met some guys face to face and had a great time with them. For those I haven't met I also use my personal judgement about who's who and there are many posts I don't even bother replying to when I don't think the post or poster is worth a reply, picture or no picture, owner or non-owner, faker or not.

New page new pic [:)] RobK and I on the A5 [:)]

ORIGINAL: Big E I can't see a function to do polls on here so maybe people can quote and edit to show numbers. I'm interested to see how many people have taken the "Boxster" badge off the back of the car and just left "Spyder". I might lose the "Boxster" soon as it looks better. I presume this was never a factory option? "Boxster Spyder" - Big E "Spyder"
SPYDER only ...loooks IMHO neater

Factory option was all or nothing on the back. They definitely wanted to hold back the "Spyder" for the 918 [:D] I went naked for a long time and have now gone Spyder only I really like the Spyder only look best but for ease of clean you can't beat naked

Sorry i've no idea daro. I've just noticed in the bottom right of my screen there's a list of 7 things with either a tick or cross next to them. Third one down is 'Post New Poll' and for me has a cross next to it, so I guess that means not everyone can, not that i'd know how if I had the right permissions. Best asking the forum administrators. Good idea though!

Is that what billy1 calls "over" sharing? LOL [:D][:D][:D] You nearly owe me a new keyboard. Good to find some humour today, very saddened by the news about Sean Edwards - I used to read his posts on Pistonheads, he was an active contributor on the Porsche forum. Brings it home to you how short and unfair life can be.

That is a complete tragedy and very sad indeed http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/motorsport/24532901 The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour. Now is the only time you own. Live,Love,Toil with a will. Place no faith in time. For the clock may soon be still.

I hadn't heard this sad news... How terrible! Sean gave me tuition at Bedford - what a great driver and certainly one of the very best in a 911.... Thoughts go to his family and loved ones. Very sad

ORIGINAL: Siy Reverting back to a an old question, I spoke with the guys at Porsche Byfleet, and the silver one without the Spyder wheels which has now been sold was in fact the press car, as you had thought. Sorry it took so long to get the answer!
Thanks for the update - no wonder that was so cheap in order to sell.
Billy can we have the custard test with your car please :) every time a over view of owners cars gets posted, there is never a pic of your car... just a logo this is Custard test time
Interesting that you edited the quote - worried about protecting the value of your ex-press car? :) It's not a nice feeling when people criticise your P&J, is it. I've nothing to prove to you and therefore have no intention of doing so.
not worried at all, very odd comment to make, you still are very aggressive on here, but at least I own one, mod one, track one etc etc :) you cannot post a random pic, hence why it's called the "custard test" !!!!!! (look it up) Any one who is this defensive always has some thing to hide. I don't hide the fact that my car was one of the press cars do I ? On the last page I even posted a Autocar screen grab of my car in test showing the plate, that's how worried I am lol. The only person who it seems to effect is you. But you hide the fact you even own one, now I even doubt you do. And then will not tell any one what spec you even have if you do own one !!! (even more odd to keep the spec to yourself imo) If I look at your past 10 posts, they all really point to you not owning one. you don't even know if it's safe to drive the car with the extra back roof bit on ! some times some thing is not right and in this case I smell some billy.

Why did you edit my post then? You've posted directly in response to my comment that ex-press cars are hard to sell, by trying to "call me out" as a fraud. I know how sensitive you are about protecting your cars and justifying your decisions. Criticising other people's views or opinions is precisely what you do regularly, and it's interesting to see how you react to similar behaviour when (you perceive) that it's directed at you - you go on the attack. I have already explained that I'm more discrete than some on-line. That's not your way, I know, but it is mine. I would hope (but wouldn't hold my breath) that you'd respect that. I have no interest in complying with your funny little demands because whether you believe that I have a Spyder or not is of absolute irrelevance to me, obviously. You are welcome to ignore my contributions if you don't believe they are of value (in fact I would welcome it). I will continue making them nonetheless. Having said that, a Spyder would be a very niche thing to "pretend" to have! If you can smell something I suggest you look closer to home....

Went Spyder only a few weeks ago and I think car looks better, in saying that it is very difficult to see the black badge on black Spyder, will try and post pic soon Kenny Spyder

kenny - Get the "Spyder" painted red to match the Brembos it goes well on black and picks up rear light colour as well.
