Always a refreshing change to see one of these so called fair weather cars out in the wet weather[]ORIGINAL: 993AL Thanks for the welcome guys [] Robert, It's platinum silver, March 2011 on '11 plate, one previous owner. 9460 miles at purchase. Excuse the picture including rain, it's the only one I have at the moment.
OMG[] These cars shrink in the rain See the Spyder catalogue picture where even Porsche had to take cover [] Nice low mileage example and if you are a topless fan try to make her a "keeper"[8D] See how much cooler they look in Silver in the sun[8D]ORIGINAL: 993AL Excuse the picture including rain, it's the only one I have at the moment.
http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/driven/1312_2014_alfa_romeo_4c_vs_porsche_cayman/ Whilst we're on the subject of the 981, this review might be of interest to some. I don't think the cars being compared can really be compared but as a result of putting them together, the review brings out more about the key attributes of each car - maybe impossible for most people to like both cars equally. What is good about one would erode what is good about the other if they were merged. Nevertheless, I thought it positioned the 981 quite well (and the other car)
Elise in a posh frock. Still take a Elise and save the extra money for a year of track days and spa trips. If the Alfa was 1000kg with a interior to make you feel good, proper front lights, a V6 and manual then it would be going head to head with a Cayman. But today it's a Elise in a posh frock and it seems not as good as one, although it looks will attract some. I cannot believe the 4c is wider than even a new shape Cayman either, not good for the modern single garage and our tight B roads.

Welcome, good choice! I haven't had my Spyder long but I really love it, it is just THE car for top down driving IMO. I think a 991 GT3 will be the ideal companion for the Spyder, not a replacement. Start getting the man maths together to justify both!ORIGINAL: 993AL Thanks Brian. Yes, bought almost 2 weeks ago. I would say a 911 turbo is a better car to go with a Spyder. When you have 2 more hard core style cars both 2 seats, you tend to take the Spyder out if the suns out. I never used my GT3 at the week ends as we had a good weather and so the Spyder always came out. My GT3 never got used. Where if you had a Turbo you gain 2 seats and 4wd and a shunt of power. 991 Gt3 looks a awesome machine, but imo not a car to own along side a Spyder, your brain will explode deciding which one to use and one will always loose out. Where owning a Turbo would make a nice all round daily runner with a Spyder for the week end. Be good fun finding out though, would love a go in a 991 GT3

I had a 997 Turbo previously, a brilliant car but too "fast saloon" for me. I replaced it with a 997 GT2 and I have to say its the best car I've owned, unfortunately I didn't realise it until I sold it and bought an LP570 Gallardo....good in a lot of ways but not GT2 good. The 991 Turbo S seems to be getting big licks on PH at the moment, I wonder how the ride is. Al.ORIGINAL: MrDemon I would say a 911 turbo is a better car to go with a Spyder. But what did you have as a fun car while owning the 911 turbo ? Maybe no fun car ? You now have a fun car, I thought a Gt3 and Spyder would be a perfect combo but for fun you cannot drive both at the same time. All I wished for was a nicer car to drive and one to goto the shops in, neither of my cars were fun in those respects lol. I do have a Mini Cooper S now to do the shop trips and tip trips ,will swap that for a Fiesta ST befor Xmas. Then from the gt3 I went m3 competition which I thought was over rated so swapped that within 3 months for a Cayamn R which I can use 100% of the time and it's daily fun! but I"ll prob buy a gen 2 turbo next year. I guess it depends what you need cars for and how many you have. I even find now the Cayman R is so great / usable etc the Spyder gets less use, where before the Gt3 got left in the garage, now the Spyder does. So my thought was a 911 turbo would work well with weekend fun car like a Spyder.
Thanks Cecil, I already did, it came thru to my FB earlier, but thanks
