[][] It says Local mountain biker Pete Irons found Wisdom's Porsche Panamera Turbo, worth £100,000, in the ditch close to Breadsall Pride Marriot Hotel outside Derby. He informed the police and was shocked to think the car had got that far in the terrible conditions. He said: "To get to that point he would have to have come through an equally muddy section, I have no idea what he was thinking."We are miles from any main road, and the track doesn't go anywhere, it's just mind boggling how he ended up there. I think satnav is a brilliant invention but it's a programmed guide and still requires your own intuition at times. Clearly above that didn't happen[] The dynamic reroute due to traffic info can be misleading as the satnav typically doesn't receive any traffic info about the minor roads it's might divert you onto. I like that car has integrated Nav but the cost to get it new within PCM is an illogically expensive route to getting integrated Nav. As has been said before the partial post code entry on the Porsche PCM3 nav is its biggest weakness. Too many times that level of innacuracy has rendered it useless when it doesn't have the definitive destination or road name against that half post code entry. When it is working tbough it works well. Much safer than trying to read a map if you're driving alone.ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Hope none of you Spydermen rely on Porsche sat nav when you go out down, erm, quiet country lanes! Mind boggling indeed [] I like satnav, primarily for the ETA function. It is useful technology until such point as it is inevitably married in to an automated speeding fine collector...ORIGINAL: flat6 Local mountain biker Pete Irons found Wisdom's Porsche Panamera Turbo, worth £100,000, in the ditch close to Breadsall Pride Marriot Hotel outside Derby. He informed the police and was shocked to think the car had got that far in the terrible conditions. He said: "This was clearly the wrong Porsche for the job. Why didn't he buy a Cayenne? People from all over Derby come here to walk their dogs. Many of them use normal family cars with special headlights that flash to each other like a secret code. Often there are ladies involved and this mud really doesn't help." Nothing a good valet wont sort out. [] Could be a lucrative line of business if you can build up a footballing clientele[] They can sometimes produce a strange route if they are set to 'shortest route' (any shortest path) vs 'quickest route' (best fast roads) and what the 'avoid' settings are. Just this weekend I set my SatNav to avoid Toll roads and a quick look at the route list showed it was also going to try to avoid some road works by being pushed onto the M6 by avoiding the M6 Toll. But if you know where you're going, you make a judgement call. Then when you get near your destination, the Nav becomes more useful. I did once get caught out in North Wales though. I put my trust in the PCM Nav to get me into the right vicinity of a destination, based on a partial post code, but some roads are of course very long (would usually pull out my old Garmin when the PCM Nav partial post code is no use). A point came when I lost confidence in it and switched on the Nav on my phone and let that take over. Full post code and it was telling me a different direction. Got to where I was going using the phone and on the way back home, because the PCM Nav knew my home address fully, it took us back on a much better route.ORIGINAL: CLIFFWILKINS Nothing a good valet wont sort out.  [][] On a serious note Sat navs do take you down some not car friendly roads.

Another one from the Porsche posts on facebook. The chap says he also owns a Spyder and that reminded me... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKUNLBYA6sI&feature=youtube_gdata_player It's the guy who bought the PC Wilmslow car at the beginning of the year, that RobK, myself and JamieW inspected previously. http://teamspeed.com/forums/boxster-cayman/78787-my-new-boxster-spyder.html

I've no idea how England/Scotland/Wales prices compare to Northern Ireland, but it does look very cheap even for a 2010 car with 22k miles. http://ucl.porsche.de/ucl/plsql/uk/clients.print_car?fin_=WP0ZZZ98ZBS740478&lang_=EN For the same price from the same OPC you can get a 2.9 PDK registered Jan 2012. http://ucl.porsche.de/ucl/plsql/uk/clients.print_car?fin_=WP0ZZZ98ZBS701229&lang_=EN Yep Brian, maybe they got it very cheap.

In the end it 's all about PROFIT but knowing the OPC pricing i recon that car cost them no more than £26K in real terms ,possible offered the person a deal on a stock car with a good margin. Its all speculative one thing is some one with no PX could get a very cheap motor . As to prices in Belfast i do not know how the market is but if it anything like the housing one it is in decline in Belfast as well as Scotland . Southern prices are on the up according to a program last night so one would imagine it is the same in the car tradeORIGINAL: flat6 I've no idea how England/Scotland/Wales prices compare to Northern Ireland, but it does look very cheap even for a 2010 car with 22k miles. http://ucl.porsche.de/ucl/plsql/uk/clients.print_car?fin_=WP0ZZZ98ZBS740478&lang_=EN For the same price from the same OPC you can get a 2.9 PDK registered Jan 2012. http://ucl.porsche.de/ucl/plsql/uk/clients.print_car?fin_=WP0ZZZ98ZBS701229&lang_=EN Yep Brian, maybe they got it very cheap.
