Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

Great news now try and look after this one []ORIGINAL: rob.kellock My Spyder is back with new windscreen. There was a slight issue with the plastic trim at the bottom nearside corner of the screen which was sitting slightly proud and I could see some gluey residue but they cleaned it all off and re-did it in front of me satisfactorily. It is in fact a noticeable improvement giving that "new car" clarity with zero marks on it. Fingers crossed when I check it in full daylight...
Hi Darrell and welcome to our corner of the world wide web ... You have a twin to Mr D's car and he uses his mainly for track days so can no doubt give you all his hard driven track knowledge to date Your Spyder is certainly the total opposite to my fat boy .... Enjoy it's an even greater piece of kit than you have probably read to date [][]ORIGINAL: DarrellWilson I'm not disappointed, such a fantastic car. Spec is 2010; white; manual; carbon brakes, sports exhaust; short shift; no radio, air con or cup holders......just as it was intended [] Spent the last few years driving Caterham's on track so can't wait to get the spyder out on some familiar circuits. I assume the PCGB trackdays are the most popular ones for spyder drivers.

HI Darrell I am the other owner of the hardcore spec Spyder, yours must be my twin. was it a press car ? I only did 3 track days last year all non PCGB ones, I normally do book a track ones or Lotus on track ones, I am sure others here have done more track days, they are not my thing these days, might sprint it in 2104 though. just look after the PCCB, people miss use them because they think they are bullet proof. change pads half worn and ALWAYS do a full cool down lap to cool the disks. Get some £8 GT3 brake ducts and get some camber on the front end as stock geo is pants and will kill your tyres on track if pushed. I run the max neg camber the holes will allow which is still not enough at -1.2 and I run zero front toe. I will be getting RSS LCA on my car for 2014 and will dial in about -2.2 at the front. but you can file out the holes at the top and get more than -1.2, your choice. I would also look into retro fitting sports mode it's about £700 and with it on gives you a bit of slip angle before PSM cuts in, I only drive in sports mode in both my cars. but on track always turn PSM fully off, as you will wear out your rear PCCB with PSM on as it will rear brake all the time. and at £3.5k a disk that's expensive. If you plan hardcore tracking ie 7+ I would buy the Brembo track day disks, we already have the 6 pot larger calipers and Brembo do a kit to work with them with 350mm 2 part disks. spot the odd one outORIGINAL: DarrellWilson First post on the forum so go easy on me! Just bought a spyder from a private seller. Not even driven one before but the write ups were so convincing I didnt think I needed to. I'm not disappointed, such a fantastic car. that is not nice at all ;-( imo.ORIGINAL: kitchens http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/356/lhd-rch-356-carrera-wide-body-replica-left-hand-drive/1900605 Not a Spyder but worth a posting i like this a lot has real presence and in Gulf Colours
Me too. What were they thinking? IMO []ORIGINAL: MrDemon that is not nice at all ;-( imo.
Easy Easy it's that time of year when we must all be nice to each other []ORIGINAL: MrDemon it's come to a point I have to say imo on every thread now, other wise others may think it's fact and get upset. of course that's imo if I am allowed to have one
ORIGINAL: homerdogI know, I really like it!ORIGINAL: jdpef356I think the Red and Black interior makes it stand out from others - kinda tasteful - but not too much
The need to say imo would be missing the point. If you'd had said the above about an owner's car, 'imo' wouldn't have lessened the blow[]ORIGINAL: MrDemon can people really like a red steering wheel ? Sorry . to me it's like sitting inside a vagina.
Amazing that the car is so light that driver aids are welcomed even with all the weight holding it down. The 918 Spyder hasn't added any more flamboyance beyond the Carrera GT's looks (IMO [] ) but looks as purposeful as it no doubt has proven to be. If the McLaren and Ferrari don't go much much faster (being lighter and more powerful) they will still have red faces.ORIGINAL: daro911 Checkout this Spyder video .... Imagine having a short shifter to work too![] http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=29071
