Are they light enough? [] Yup, first Spyder to have a windscreen damaged by laser beams!! Have already told Autoglass I have OCD and they have assured me they have their best man on stand by. Perhaps if I meet him and hand over a Christmas drink before parting with my keys I won't end up with missing screws and bubbles. [] At least they don't have PCM or magic wipers to complicate things...

man in cap: so which one of these is the light weight stripped out special with the big wheels? IT'S BEHIND YOU!!
Looks good. You should be racing with your Spyder wheels though[] I'm biased as I like the black finish, but surely good for racing to hide the brake dust more than silver. Big gaps between the spokes to let you inspect what's going on behind the wheel without taking them off. All good [] If you're interested in the rim weights you can compare them here. http://www.944racing.de/wheelweights.php
You have to tell us more??![&:]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Yup, first Spyder to have a windscreen damaged by laser beams!!
Looks like they're one of the lighter types I already thought so as I had them on my Boxster too! Thanks for that link Cecil it's worth bookmarking. Odd to think the tyres weigh more than the wheelsORIGINAL: flat6 Looks good. Yeah I noticed that too. I thought the more sporty looking Carrera Sport wheel would have been at the lighter end given it was the chosen wheel option on the GTS if opting not to go with centre locks, but not so. Also surprising the 997 GT3 wheel is the heaviest. OK its 12" wide on the rear but it says the front is 8.5" like many of the others but its much heavier.ORIGINAL: Andy FaganLooks like they're one of the lighter typesORIGINAL: flat6 http://www.944racing.de/wheelweights.php
You're welcome. Oh, I hadn't realised that! Next there'll be an optimum Spyder & R spec based on the lightest tyres []ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Thanks for that link Cecil it's worth bookmarking. Odd to think the tyres weigh more than the wheels
flat6 - I was only picking up on Andy's joke from the early hours of this morning. Would be funny to write a letter before action to the Highland Rozzers alleging that their Prolazer III had cracked my windscreen whilst they were busting me...ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Does radar mark the screen? []

I have my eye on one at the moment, 2010, white, manual, spyder wheels and buckets with some more bits also and about 6500 on the clock. The Spyder may be a bit slower that the car I have come from but looks like pure luxury even with a tent roof
Welcome to the worlds most active Spyder Web [] Good luck with the hunt for a car [8D]ORIGINAL: Rocket Man Well for my first post i have to say i will have to get myself one of the Spyders

Coming from an Ariel Atom it makes the Spyder pure luxury
Welcome rocket Man and good luck with your search - what are your preferences for the search ie manual,PDK etc At this stage I would normally write 'Drive one and you will be smitten' - but coming from the Atom Im unsure if that will apply.[&:] Ive just watched http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIiWhWpzFQQ One thing I can guarantee is you will be a lot dryer, warmer and you will be amazed at the space for luggage.[] I suppose one thing you could now put on your Christmas list is a Tin of Polish.[] Welcome!
If you want a first class example checkout my ex garage queen now residing with 911V Wheels could be sourced in a deal but the carbon buckets is a whole other story unless you go Recarro Poles [] http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/796/BoxsterSpyder(Manual)/ORIGINAL: Rocket Man Coming from an Ariel Atom it makes the Spyder pure luxury
I can't think where but I'm sure I heard a similar restoration event may take place next year! My Big Question? What happens to the cars that have been restored? Will they be sold? I do know the Cambridge car will be traveling with us on the Region 24 WOTY to the LAON Historique. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9c01h0D5FwM When I last checked we had 20 cars going and we have a couple of places left.
