Excellent!! I've got a growing tyre dump now, Got a track day booked with a rallycross buddy at Oulton on 25 Feb to scrub the tyres and see what they feel like. Invested in a set of Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R's [].......... Yeah will be a big loss for Jenson. I read that he attended all of Jenson's grand prix except one.ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Some very recent sad news.... Jensons Dad John Button has died http://www.itv.com/news/update/2014-01-13/jenson-buttons-father-john-dies-aged-70/

Steady with the language here MrDemon - no place in this club for homophobia whether or not it's said in jest. I used to be biased about PDK until I actually tried it - now I realise there is no other way! Fast gear change in auto or manual model and the change is barely noticeable. A fabulous invention!ORIGINAL: MrDemon yes we all know the best cars are manual, and PDK is for gayers , what's your point
Thanks. Its strange how back in the early 1980"s the 911 cabrio killed the Targa off. Fast forward 20 years and for a new generation of 911 buyers this will probably be the must have drop top [][]. Funny old worldORIGINAL: rob.kellockPorsche said "It folds up elegantly behind the rear seat system to create a visually perfect impression."ORIGINAL: daro911Is it a 2 seater now[&o]ORIGINAL: kitchens Simples...click on Overview then select from menu and it shows how roof works very ingenious
I really like it, it looks fab. Peter, PDK may be great but you saw what Walter Rohl chose in his interview published today!!
I'm not one for preferring to chop the roof of a 911 but this one keeps the 911 silhouette with the roof down which looks good to my eye. Stiffer than a cabrio too. But, it's 40kg heavier than a cabrio. The cabrio is 70kg heavier than the coupe. It's 0.1s slower to 62mph than the cabrio. The cabrio is 0.2 slower than the coupe. However, I doubt buyers for this type of 911 would care about those numbers and if I wanted a 911 where the roof comes off it'd have to be the targa. Hopefully it drives like the coupe too which would be a bonus and its compensating factor. They say it does. Now the 2nd generation just needs the rear glass to be removable for when you want maximum open-air-ness[8D]
[Post edited to remove material likely to cause offence] As for PDK , it takes the involvement and joy out of driving for me. If some one feels the need to spec it to go faster than they could before that's great , enjoy it. nick you need to edit Peter post also then please, as I am not sure I am happy with it !!! (Take up your grudges with Peter)
Another new one to the market - nice spec that just needs a good clean http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201401130990595/sort/default/usedcars/postcode/cb45bx/transmission/manual/model/boxster/onesearchad/used%2cnearlynew%2cnew/make/porsche/maximum-age/up_to_3_years_old/radius/1501/price-from/25000/page/1/engine-size-cars/3l_to_3-9l/saved-search-id/2c9218223a06d026013a15d09dac001d/keywords/spyder?logcode=pp&atcide=emc-cars-SSA008

As I suspected when this option was first announced what we have here when launched shortly as a 981 GTS the new Spyder in every sense other than the suncap and humps which leads me to suspect for the foreseeable future the need to make another Spyder Mk2 is completely redundant other than a money making exercise and possibly a final swan song for the 981 before we see Gen 3 982 Boxsters circa 2026[][]ORIGINAL: jdpef356 Found this in another area on our forum http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=806907&mpage=1&key=󅀈 Comparison of 981 and 987 Spyder.
