Yeah. Club track day calendar to be confirmed but Anglesey on 17th May seems to be fixed already. I insure my car with Porsche (technically Aviva via Marsh) and they give 2 free track days a year as part of the policy. Looks like Anglesey could turn into a Spyder-fest. []

Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

When the calendar is announced will it include noise limits? Friend of mine has just bought a GT3RS and even Bedford is a problem re noise test. Also got my insurance through Porsche but excess is increased to 10% of value of car for track days - so that could be anywhere between £3k and £5k depending the wide valuations of Spyders seen on this forum [] - although that's less than the bill for rebuilding my Caterham after my last 'racing incident'!!
Track excess is always 10%. Business opportunity for someone to re-insure the excess!!
It might be going dark and freezing cold but, oh my, it's good for the soul to have a nice blast out with the roof down.
Just been for 1 myself after the weekend wash (Not me [] ) Looking at your pic reminds me to ask if anyone knows if the OPC can re program the daytime lights so's that just the LEDs come on without the main light? If I set the daylights to ON people keep flashing me thinking my headlights are on []
Whilst I was out I filled up at the Shell station (The one we met at on the EVO run). When I went to pay a very attractive young girl behind the counter said "Really nice car by the way". I just said "thanks", but found it a little embarrassing as there was a big queue of people behind me. How does everyone else react to that sort of comment?
Andy, the correct response is "what you doing later, fancy a ride?" []
I'm not Gary Glitter!! She was only about 18 [] Oh to be 20 again [8D]ORIGINAL: rob.kellock Andy, the correct response is "what you doing later, fancy a ride?" []
18 is fine Grandad!! So they say... Incidentally, don't know if you can re-programme the leds as day running lights, you certainly can't from the car.
I washed the car last Sunday but polished it yesterday in the garage and today we went for such an exhilarating blast and I know many on here will jump on the next statement but 200 miles on with PDK IN MANUAL MODE ONLY has delivered so much fun I can 100% say it is a brilliant piece of kit and as entertaining in a completey different fasion to a short shift manual so much so I am not sure I could now revert back without serious adjustment in the current driving style On a slightly more worrying note for some reason as I went to set off the brakes were well and truly stuck on and released with a very nasty sounding bang and scrapping type sound for the first few feet leaving the garage. I have never had this on any of my previous queens and hope it was a freak one off and not the start of something more sinister [&o] Andy I had my last Spyder programmed by local OPC to run daylights only for free! and headlamps off. Unfortunately I then discovered that the rear lights were on too and it was like running with your side lights on but no dash illumination. I decided to turn it back off and run with no lights but very shiny polished paint instead[8D]ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan Just been for 1 myself after the weekend wash (Not me [] ) Looking at your pic reminds me to ask if anyone knows if the OPC can re program the daytime lights so's that just the LEDs come on without the main light? Must be the weather - mine had sticky brakes the last 2 times its been out. Wore off immediately.
Could be it's certainly extremely damp down here. I managed to roll into the garage and stop without touching the brakes so there is no reason for them to be stuck next time out[&o] HopefullyORIGINAL: rob.kellock Must be the weather - mine had sticky brakes the last 2 times its been out. I think you'll find its the brake shoes for the handbrake that stick []ORIGINAL: daro911Could be it's certainly extremely damp down here. Fingers crossed. Mine was worst its ever been last time which surprised me as it had done 100 miles but caught in heavy rain storm on the way back. Roll on the summer.
If you park it on the flat leave it in gear with the handbrake OFFORIGINAL: rob.kellock Fingers crossed. Mine was worst its ever been last time which surprised me as it had done 100 miles but caught in heavy rain storm on the way back. Roll on the summer.
But I never use the handbrake as PDK has to be left in park to remove ignition key so no point using handbrake for the very reason you state. Had that happen several times on the manual one so in the end I just stopped using it and left car in gear[&o]ORIGINAL: Andy FaganI think you'll find its the brake shoes for the handbrake that stick []ORIGINAL: daro911Could be it's certainly extremely damp down here.
