So, want any extras? Steering column in leather please. Really? Yup, that's all I want. Anything else? Nope. Any more leather? Nah. Oh, coloured wheel centres are a deal breaker. No problem sir, can I interest you in ceramics as I see you are following the lightweight ethos Nah. Too dear. Sports exhaust has proved a popular choice? Too heavy. Xenon lights? I only intend to drive it when it's sunny. Climate control is a must then? Too heavy and I'll have the roof down. Park assist can be helpful? Not interested in what's behind me. PDK is the future sir. Feck off. Can I interest you in sports chrono? No. By the way, must I have the floor mats? Yup, and you'll have to pay for them too. Bu99er.

A heavyweight endorsement[]ORIGINAL: MillerIanF I attach an interesting note of an American forum. "Let me relay this short conversation I had with Dr. Wolfgang Porsche at the 2012 Porsche Parade in Salt Lake City after my 'Crystal Blue' 1970 911E Targa was selected by him & his brother Hans Peter for the coveted 'Judges' Choice' Trophy at the Parade Concours in July of this year! Dr. Porsche asked me what other Porsche I owned. I told him an 'Aqua Blue' MY2012 Spyder. He opened his eyes wide, cracked a big smiled and enthusiastically said 'Me too!'. His 'Carrara White' Spyder resides at his private 'barn' garage at his estate in Zellamsee in Austria. If it is all hyperbole, as Al Diaz claims, at least I am comforted by the fact that there are significant others that have drunk the Kool-Aid too about the 'specialness' of this rare production model!" I think it is priced very correctly if the specification on the locator is correct it is a good £5000 on the light side ticked boxes wise and this is reflected in full on the rrp [&o] OPC are generally pricing there stocks in a very similar fashion for obvious reasons and these guys have sold used Spyders before Transmission: Manual Fuel: Petrol Colour: Carrara White Colour (interior): Black leatherette and alcantara seats Location of the car: Porsche Centre Swindon Vehicle Ident Number: WP0ZZZ98ZBS740102 Mileage: 6,116 m Registration Year: 03/10 Price: £ 35,950 Equipment 19-inch Boxster Spyder Wheel 6-speed manual transmission CDR-30 Audio System Floor mats Sound Package Plus including CD storage Sports Bucket Seats Steering column casing leather Wheel centre set Contact details Request more information Porsche Centre Swindon Ashworth Road, Bridgemead SN5 7YH Swindon Phone: +44-1793-615888ORIGINAL: flat6 That's a good'n [] I think if this was one of the regular OPCs that deal in Spyders they wouldn't have priced it so low with such low mileage.
I see what you mean. I was just thinking that the right buyer looking for a car close to launch spec would pay more than that, placing more value in the car itself, rather than the options it doesn't have. Cars like this don't come along every day if that's what you're looking for. I'm not saying they should ask as much as the other one but I don't think they needed to deduct thousands based on the options it doesn't have. OK, things like SS and SC put the icing on the cake, but I think they could've comfortably asked £38K. If it had sports seats with such a low spec then I think it'd struggle to find home, but with buckets it should serve someone with a specific purpose. I reckon at that price it won't be around for long. What you say though clearly shows that there's 2 types of buyer and the comfort spec, making the car more versatile and useable as a weekend roadster is very desirable, whilst on the other hand we've had 2 people on here prefer the launch spec. Yet this OPC has placed lower value on the latter. Maybe in future years the value of both specs will even out or maybe one will have stronger demand than the other, like today. But which one - who knows. ..
Nope (but I can see where you're coming from) A lot older than Kimi, but he was a F1 Driver and Sports Cars (Le Mans etc)ORIGINAL: flat6Is it Kimi?ORIGINAL: Andy Fagan We have well known Caymanmen as well [] Anyone name the driver? Hint: It's not Mr D [][]

In future years these collectables will be just that and any would be buyer will have to be very flexible on spec because the majority of Spyders were only 50% bucket seats, 50% manual, 3% maybe Ceramics, whilst probably 99% had CDR30 radio, 90% + air con, Spyder Wheels maybe 60%! just a wild guess and so the list goes on I think it is fair to say in future year residuals will be like most collectables very dependant on documentation, service history, mileage & overall condition if you added PSE, short shifter & Sports Chrono to the 6k mile example for sale today you would be heading back to the £40k mark and a much more desirable spec carORIGINAL: flat6 I see what you mean. Ah OK. We've come a long way! The dump of loads of Spyder stuff is on page 355. Far too large to re-post now! However I missed a lot of Brian's adventures, so i've added them into page 355 but will give them an airing here too[]
ORIGINAL: flat6 It's all happening in Scotland. Over to Brian and Kenny to provide the narrative[]
ORIGINAL: kitchens Thanks to Flat 6 our photo editor .[] This was our annual Scottish regional concourse held at Blair Atholl Castle in Perthshire off the A9 about 35 miles from Perth . We had a glorious day for it the sun shined as you can see . It was nice to see two Spyders in attendance .as you can see our cars looked great and where well admired by the tourists who flocked to the castle as well as the members . We had approx 40 cars in attendance you can see Kenny and I in the picture . Kenny won 1st place in the Boxster Cayman section and you can see him with his spoils His car is stunning and the paintwork is like glass it had been detailed just after he bought it by www.tlcdetailing.co.uk and you can see the results in the photo with my cars reflection on the door . So that is the car shows over for another year don't know what i will do at the weekends now ........ []

But then, I see his SKINZ number plate, so it is authenticated[] "Spyderman Brian spins his web and captures the girls"[] What's the story to go with this one Brian, and please share the secrets of your success[8D]

I've applied for PCGB membership and hope to get the instructions on the "secret handshake" through soon [] Are there decent PCGB events? Any of the Spydermen get along to any? My Spyder went into storage (temp and humidity controlled of course!) in November and I can't wait to get it back out and stretch it's legs! We built a new house recently and put a garage build on the back burner but now we've put in for planning so hopefully we'll get that approved, built and get the Spyder home where it belongs. It is currently being dwarfed by this monster!

It has a new plate now 40 BWK the SK 11 NZZ is no longer on it .Was always waiting for the drugs dog squad to pull me over and do a search didn't fancy a spaniel running over my alcantara buckets[][][] Me in my innocence had no idea the link between the number and drugs .[]
Hi Steve, i'll add you on the next new page[] BigE, we tried and failed to explain it to Brian, so perhaps we don't explain it very well, but i'll try. Based on what you have done, when you click on the thumbnail in your post and view it full size, your browser shows the web address of the picture as http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/upfiles/29884/8883F54392E6438AB9709C8376A6158C.jpg Grab that web address, put it in your post, highlight it and click the button in your posting window labelled 'image'. That adds the delimiters for it to be recognized as a picture to display. Then when you post it will display the picture. You can actually type the delimiters yourself before and after the web address which is [imag3] before the address and [/imag3] at the end. I've changed the 'e' in image to a 3 just so that it doesn't try to interpret it as a delimiter. You would type 'image' inside the square brackets (or ever img and /img inside the square brackets instead) One step on from that, you should really post your pictures on a website like flickr or photobucket and grab the link from there and do what I have said above. What you have done it upload the picture to the PCGB forum server, which just adds it as a thumbnail in the post. You can as described above then grab the web address of the thumbnail but a) you need 2 posts to make it work b) unlike uploading it to flickr etc. you take up space on the PCGB forum server, which will eventually lead to storage problems, so I don't recommend that. If you click on 'Quote' towards the top right of MY post, you'll see the syntax used on the picture below.
