Those major service prices seem high. Porsche quote £610 for major and £150 for brake so that's £760 less discount for PCCGB and further discount if own oil supplied. I'd expect it to come in around £650, why is it over £1k. Sparks must be included in major cost surely as schedule says they are due every 4 years and a major service is every four years or mileage??!!

From what I recall from getting my minor done, I agree with VrooomM for what i'd expect for a major. What are the additional item(s) on top of the £610 + £150 taking it to £1100? It should list it in the service book but mine is not within reach right now.ORIGINAL: VvrooomM Those major service prices seem high. VAT and the well known additional South East tax I would assume!ORIGINAL: flat6 From what I recall from getting my minor done, I agree with VrooomM for what i'd expect for a major. As far as servicing if you dont have a warranty why not have a major at a good indy and minor at main dealer to keep costs down. I recently had a minor service on my GT3 at OPC supplied my own Mobil 1and got club 10 per cent discount. Very reasonable for the minor at OPC.
Mine's in for its 2 year service at end of month and I'm sure they quoted me £420 inc VAT
VAT is included in the Porsche prices shown. Spark plugs maybe another £150 but I reckon you could supply your own like the oil situation with Mobil1ORIGINAL: Big EVAT and the well known additional South East tax I would assume!ORIGINAL: flat6 From what I recall from getting my minor done, I agree with VrooomM for what i'd expect for a major. Definitely[]ORIGINAL: jdpef356 New Page new sort of spyder picWe've got em Licked!
It's the spark plug change which puts it up. It's not that easy to do so the labour cost must be quite high on that job. It's daft the price is not included in the major. In theory the plugs should last 60k miles, my cars done 8k miles !! Better off doing a oil change every six months imo not having OPC service history who only change the oil every 2 years !!! 2 year oil changes is crazy but a car is said to be worth more with OPC history !!!

It's a rip off for what is basically just a oil change. You don't even get a air filter on the minor, so you have to wait 4 years for a air filter !!! I can get my fluid done for £6 or £40 if I pay my local garage. It's really put me of even paying £800 now, was only doing it at the OPC this time to get a check over the car before the warranty runs out. Hate being ripped off. I might also for go the spark plug change and get my Indy to do that with the fluid. It's gutting you pay more just because it's a Porsche, it no harder than doing a ford for £200.
It's more than that though MrD. You're paying for the dealer to be able to send the technicians on Porsche courses to learn the new systems etc etc. You're also helping the dealer to invest in the latest tools and diagnostic equipment. And also for the nicer surroundings with a welcome coffee and staff that seem to have been trained to a customer friendly standard. Not like the Ford dealer where I seem to remember you didn't get on so well with the staff. [][][]ORIGINAL: MrDemon It's a rip off for what is basically just a oil change. They say that as low mileage cars could be good for a lot longer than just 4 years although at year 4 and 10k miles Hatfield changed my okd 2005 987 S's plugs[&o]ORIGINAL: flat6So that means they wouldn't charge up front for it.ORIGINAL: daro911 We don't include spark plugs in these fixed price service tariffs.
