I was catching up on Autocar magazines from the last few weeks. It's interesting to note the Jaguar F Type Project 7: They plan to ditch the heavy electric roof (and provide a temporary fabric rain cover) and replace the rear bodywork with a faired in boot cover, and the standard seats with carbon items. This saves ~80 kg (bringing the weight down to something in the 1500 kg's!). Aim to sell around 250. Does this idea sound rather familiar to you? Oh, and the price? Around £135,000 !!!!!!!!!
That's the price you have to pay for 567 bhp under your right foot [8D] I am sure a similar powerful Boxster Spyder would have been six figures too[] Radical Jaguar F-type Project 7 sells out in the UK Company officials confirm all 65 of the UK's allocation of £135,000 F-type Project 7s have been sold, with production due to start next year http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/jaguar-f-type-project-7-first-rideORIGINAL: Steve Brown I was catching up on Autocar magazines from the last few weeks. And they're all sold! So the concept behind our little beasties obviously strikes a chord with those with a few quid going spare to have something "different" tucked away in the garage. I wonder how much of the 567 bhp goes into forward motion rather than burnt rubber!
This might give you a slight clue but obviously for £135k and stripped back weight bespoke dampers it should be a little closer to the 991 Turbo S hopefully[] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef1G8wOU_2UORIGINAL: Steve Brown And they're all sold! Looks like it'll be popular at Kwik Fit [] Anyway, just got home to find the latest issue of Evo (199, Sept) on the doormat. Has anyone else had a peek at page 137 yet []
The word is spreading. Shame the wheels and seats the article refers to aren't the ones in the photo.ORIGINAL: Steve Brown Looks like it'll be popular at Kwik Fit [] Anyway, just got home to find the latest issue of Evo (199, Sept) on the doormat. Has anyone else had a peek at page 137 yet []
Just back from a wonderful racy 40 mile journey in glorious weather despite the forecast being all doom and gloom 24 hours ago[] Whilst enjoying my Spyder I pondered that should Porsche ever make a Spyder Gen 2 would they have the sense to make the standard spec all the sports options as they have just woken up to with the fabulous GTS There may be less than 200 UK cars according to the How Many Left app but how many of those cars have the PSE, SC, Paddle shifts for PDK and short shifter for manuals, Spyder alloys, and carbon buckets .... far fewer than there will shortly be in GTS's with their great standard spec and in under 12 months from now if not sooner [&o] The sport chassis is so good, user friendly too and far cheaper and lighter than the PASM the GTS gets as standard so sadly Porsche once again missed a trick IMO and the suits missed making far more margin had they gone that route and left the list price as is today [] OK off to clean my garage queen[]

Indeed, was a positive article especially given the recent "future classics" article which also praised the Spyder.ORIGINAL: DarrellWilsonThe word is spreading. The £45k 2010 Hairpin Spyder has sold already had the Mr D correct wheels, correct buckets & correct gears[] but not much else! What a great car to drive! This rare UK supplied RHD Boxster Spyder continues that long tradition of pared down limited edition Porsches that deliver an unmatched pure and focused driving experience. This is truly a great car to drive and, as usual, is manufactured to very high standards. This example is finished to a desirable specification including the six speed manual gearbox and bucket sports seats. It is virtually ‘as new’ having covered only 4,000 summer miles in the hands of two owners from new. It was supplied by The Porsche Centre in Bournemouth to a local customer who retained it until earlier this year. We purchased the car for a valued client who has used the car minimally since. A major service was completed by the supplying dealer a couple of months ago. A wonderful and very collectible Porsche for not much money!
