A classic case of size doesn't matter then as we all know how well the standard small boys cope when applied[:D][:D]

Morning all. Well the Spyder and I are due our first anniversary soon which means insurance renewal time. I used Churchill last year and they were very cheap but on the renewal they value the Spyder at £23k! What insurers do you guys use? Any good specialist insurers out there?

My renewal is due end of this month and my current insurers Chubbs via Locktons (see Porsche Post Ads) kindly upped the premium by about £50! I advised Locktons that I had alternative quotes via other brokers and they needed to sharpen their pencils which I am glad to report they did This years premium is now over £100 less than last years which was year one for me on any private policy after being on the company fleet policy for more decades than I care to confess too [:D][:D] Using one of those go compare sites my best priced policy was £38 cheaper from an on line source But I am not sure it gave me the option of choosing a Porsche approved bodyshop of my choice so for peace of mind I have paid a little more and stayed put with an agreed valuation of £42k and the services of a broker should I ever need to make a claim[]

Nice to hear good feedback from Locktons. They sponsor the Club very generously and are very keen to acquire members' business. Please give them a try.

I have had a quote from Locktons but they were two and a half times more expensive than my policy last year. I don't mind paying a higher premium for a quality policy but that seems a bit excessive.

I see what you are saying but when there policy which is top quality comes in at just £38.00 more after some arm twisting than an inferior product from Argos[&o]! via a go compare on line service I was happy to pay the £400 odd and stay with them. I have heard of all these wonderful deals with the likes of Aviva or Direct Line but when push comes to shove their quotes are always within a £100 of where I am currently going via Locktons[&o] I underwrite my own sinking fund if anything should go pop on the car which saves me £900 + by forgoing the Porsche warranty for my 2/3000 miles pa so paying a bit extra in the hope of some terrible unforeseen accident to my garage queen I should in theory be in the driving seat reference any required repairs[]

I pay about £250 :) for 40k value, but might have to up the value a bit again... The issue is most companies have 40k limits for the cheaper prices, state over 40k and the price jumps up loads.

I don't think the London post code does me any favours premium wise [&:] How could you replace your racing spec Spyder for £40k today[:D]

I just phoned them up and asked about value, they quoted market value at time of write off, so both cars for sale at a OPC are 43k and mine has PCCB which I did list as a option so would fight a case for 45k if it was written off. we buy any car value Spyders at 25k now !!!

I have met people who swear by We Buy Any Car as being the best payers[&o] Personally I have tried them 3 times on cars for sale and their offers have been nothing short of ridiculous[:D] as per your Spyder valuation above http://www.carvaluation.com/guides/truth-about-webuyanycar
