Not true! Stop stating your choices as fact! boring...
I am stating what the likes of EVO, 5th gear, Chris Harris, Tiff, Jason, Steve Sutcliff etc etc all say read my posts I was quoting all these mags and drivers not me ;-) You sold your PDK so it did not hold much fun for you did it ? and as it's one of todays best driving cars that says a lot about the owner or that gearbox. so yes you are right in boring. but only in the PDK sense. got to love the ex PDK owners all posting here when most did not even keep the cars that long. I see yet another PDK owner selling up what's that 5 PDK cars from here all selling in the last 6 months, which for what every one says is the Best Porsche and values going up just don't seem right. says all I need to know ;-) no new pic, but knock yourself out with this driver in his manual Spyder, nice skills http://youtu.be/0vNeLjB9IXA?list=UUL-Rm-7D8xHVNA8Al7KmZtQ

ORIGINAL: DarrellWilson I did threaten this before but my Spyder is now for sale. Absolutely the purist spec, very rare in this configuration. Fantastic condition. White; Spyder wheels, manual; short shifter; bucket seats; PCCB (10% wear on pads); No air con; no radio; leather trim to dashboard & doors;10k miles; 12 months Porsche warranty; 4 year major service just done; 12 months MOT; new battery; excellent condition all round. Will be going on Pistonheads soon. PM me for anymore details.
Good luck with the sale Darrell. Of the people who post on here and have really enjoyed owning a Spyder we've had a relatively large proportion of those owners put theirs up for sale in the last couple of months. It would be interesting for the sellers to share their reasons why. I appreciate that for some it is personal and will be thinking "buzz off" [:)] I'll start with my own. I sold because I had reached my own personal threshold mileage of 25000 miles so I decided to sell on the right side of mileage and remaining service / warranty before having to consider those expenditures again, with higher mileage come that time. Coupled with that I had always wanted to try a 911 and a turbo at that. The gen 1 997 was my favourite blend, so there was only a few years window left to pick up one under a 2 year OPC warranty before the latest ones would become too old in 2017. So the time felt right sell the Spyder and scratch that turbo itch. Why have others sold / are selling?
These are fabulous cars and I'm sure I will miss it if it goes. I'm buying a property and the sale will release some capital which will come in handy and I'm hoping to go racing again next year so need the garage space. If I had the luxury of plenty of cash and lot's more garage space it wouldn't be going as it's a special car and I'm covinced these will continue to strengthen in value over time. If I get a fair price for it now then I'll be sad to see it go, if not it will stay, I'll find something else to sell and be looking for garage space to rent - already have Golf R, VW Camper (for towing and paddock accomodation) and motorbike plus Mrs W's car filling my drive and garage space!
ORIGINAL: Big E I'm thinking of selling mine. I've had a brief chat with 911Virgin and they've told me what they would sell it at (although I gave them the wrong mileage in error!) which seemed pretty reasonable and in line with my thinking. I'm not really interested in advertising it myself but would like to get a further opinion on values from the regulars on here. 2010 <29,000 miles PDK White Spyder wheels (silver) Buckets PSE Sports Chrono Air Con CDR-30 plus (i think it's called!) Porsche warranty until Aug 2015 Full OPC service history, major service done Aug 2014, geo set up Aug 2014. Check up by Precision Porsche in Sept 2014 (pre a 1,500 mile Euro jaunt) and the only thing they could fault was a corroded exhaust clamp (replaced). Tyres all good. It's very good condition for a 30k car. I'd be interested in your opinions guys, thanks. (edited to add PSE and Sports Chrono)
BigE, would be interesting to know why you're selling and what you plan to get next if you can share that info. Always interesting to know where people go after Spyder [:)]

Agree, I think they look great in Silver. Not many about in silver either, which may add to the desirability with the historic connection (as you say) at some point. Only down side is the metallic paint on the car probably weighs a kilo or so more than flat white, which would ultimately ruin the driving experience for some?! [8D]

Now then Spydermen... If you want to see if a silver Spyder is slower than a white one look no further: Just a quick heads up to everyone that one of PCGB's best track days is rapidly approaching! PCGB are hosting its annual Oulton Park track day on 5th November. Booking forms are available from the Motorsport website or please ring Steve Kevlin or Paul Grainger on 01608 652911. There is currently a 20% discount available to all PCGB members who have not done a track day before. This is always a great day out (if somewhat chilly for spectators) and people who have never done a track day before are very welcome to try this very special circuit. I can say with confidence that a Spyder is the perfect weapon of choice for this place although hopefully flat6 will be along to demonstrate the power of his turbo on the straights.

How about this one [;)] http://www.copart.co.uk/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e1s1&lotId=29291374&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS

truely brilliant car - no quibbles... I only sold as I needed 4 seats - not because I didnt like the PDK.... I was a die hard amnual fan - but bought PDK.. and loved it... that said, the reight spec for me is important - i now dont mind if its pdk or manual... I love cars - perhaps far from the best driver in the world - doesnt mean I dont enjoy cars just as much as the next man.... However - I often sell my cars after 6-12 months - rarely keep them longer - only car I did keep longer was the F430... i would say though, that my post was not meant to sound as harsh as it reads - was a lot more tongue in cheek - so apologies Mr D.. you may stir things up, but I know you know about your cars... Just to show though, as my needs changed , so did the type of car that I need... I just bought a Bentley GTC... now thats far from lightweight! it wafts..and its surprisingly alright - doubt I will keep that more than a year either - something will change or I will get bored....again!!!

The white one will put a rocket up the silver one on that particular day....

Siy sounds like your timing will be perfect to get back into a 981 Spyder back end of 2015- early 2016[8D][:D]

ORIGINAL: Nick_USA ... And you moan at me for hijacking threads Rob [;)]
There was a tenuous link [;)] But hey, where the Spyder thread goes, no one knows! Zyp, can you make it this time? Only need 4 Spyders for a new Oulton Park record!

To be honest I'm just a serial car changer! I can't remember the last time I even had the car for a year and I've had the Spyder for 15 months and really enjoyed every minute of it. They are a fantastic car and I've managed 3 Euro trips in mine over the last 15 months where it has been faultless and great fun. Mrs BigE has very little interest in cars and usually just shrugs when I turn up with a new one but she's actually a bit upset I'm even considering selling, a first for her! The difficult thing now is finding a replacement! Nothing at the same price point matches the Spyder IMO but I'm lucky enough that I can spend a bit more to get something that will hopefully give me as much enjoyment as the Spyder. I'm going to spend a bit of time trying out a few cars but at the moment the V10 R8 or F430 are top of my list, possibly a 997 GTS. Not wanting to add any fuel to Mr D's fire but I really want a manual car next. I do like the PDK but the last 3 cars I've had have been dual clutch and I fancy getting back to changing gear myself.

Thanks BigE. So the Spyder did really well reaching 15 months and getting under the skin of Mrs BigE[:)] Enjoy the hunt for the replacement[;)]

If I put the PASM in Sport Mode it will corner too[8D] I can't make this one. Was speaking to someone at our club night last night about Blyton Park organised by R4. Might try that next year.
