Yes for many Spyder wheels seem to be a requirement. However they are a more cheaply made cast wheel as against the Turbo2 forged wheels and there seem to be those who prefer the look of the Turbo2, myself included. Other Boxsters were sold specced with Spyder wheels so if one felt strongly enough it should be possible to track a second hand set down and have both. Everyone has there own opinion and for me the seats are a bigger issue. However what ever way a car was originally specced is the way I think it should remain for originality and this looks a nice car at a good price. I can't help feeling the only thing that may have a bigger effect on a cars re-sale in years ahead may be the type of gearbox.ORIGINAL: spyderwhite What you have to remember is the spyder wheels are part of the car and at £2k each the red one is not vfm I have phone module in my car and it works fine

I wonder what the pre selector gear box would have been like on a Spyder?[&:][] ---------------------------------------------- Another new car to the market - high miles http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/porsche/boxster-987-05-12/porsche-boxster-spyder/3176436ORIGINAL: Rocket Man OH no, the gearbox debate and how it efect the prices!!
Sorry guys thats what you get with a pre selector box - slow to pick up the pace[]ORIGINAL: daro911 Keep Up John that car was recorded for sale before Christmas[] Those slower rare red examples are not moving as quickly as one would have thought! They go back to November but it could well be longer than that even[]

You raise a really interesting point. There is not a basic Porsche, BMW or Mercedes in the country. My understanding is that if options are listed in the sales brochure and the car is ordered with them it is not necessary to advise your insurer. I have had a look at the Spyder "white book" and your ceramic brakes are listed as well as the more common options like Exhaust, Wheels and Seats. If I am wrong in my understanding then I think I would not be the only one. Does anyone have a definitive answer? Mind you if a Spyder was destroyed I don't think you could replace it with a matching car, such are the list of options, no two are the same.ORIGINAL: MrDemon how do you guys get on insuring the cars options ? I am having a crazy job, as the insurer wants me to list options but calls them modifications ! I am saying my car is standard, but does have factory options like PSE as an example, but they want to list this as a modifications manifold and change me £30 more ! you guys with Sports seats or turbo wheels must have a real issue as that is an option !!! So when I say leather, PCM etc etc the quote adds an amount for every option, but the insurer then quotes them back to me as non standard modifications. then I say "but the cars standard with factory options with NO modifications. and it starts all over again. this is on the R and now they say my car has external modifications, which it has not and that I owe them another £30 !!! added to the matter the guy now says my car has a "competition pack" of course there is no such pack on the R and this is why they want £30 more ! doing my head in now. this is on a like for like renewal also, so I said I just want the same as you gave me last year !!! I do pay £30 for my PCCB as a mod as it was the only way to get PCCB listed on my Spyder in case they want to give me a like for like car if it's written off and fob me off with steels.

so who did you go with??ORIGINAL: MrDemon while money is not my master, I like to pay as little as possible so I can save up for nicer things. this week I have knocked another £100 off insuring the 3 cars and managed to insure the house for less. As long as the companies are "de facto 5 star" I will choose the cheapest. for 1 hour messing about I have saved £150 which is more than I earn in 1 hour so worth the small hassle. I would like to see your 3 cars listed price with locktons ;-)
