Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

What you don't factor in is any price increases in said gt4/981 Spyder due to demand and supply! So if said cars hover around circa £80k on used market in say a year after launch then that makes your spyder£55k and remember fl4 turbos are due end of year!

Not sure new prices have any effect on the 987.2 cars, the cars will go up on their own merit imo. Older cars can end up more expensive than newer cars. new page I'll move the pic from last page to here as it's a new pic I did at Silverstone.

Does anyone really give a fu©k about values? Was out using mine around the City today, stopping off for cooked breakfast and coffees, and rattling windows though empty streets. :)

Its all about enjoying what you have got and if your happy and satisfied that is all that matters. The cars will have a value in the market and it will always be about what someone is prepared to pay however the Spyder has few competitors the only real competitor I can think of is the Exige Roadster which at £55K will be the benchmark in my opinion. I cannot see anyone buying a 4 year old Spyder for more than a new Exige Roadster. Just my opinion. Geoff

Top is always up. Even at 140mm. Did have the rear section out.

ORIGINAL: spyderwhite Considering it's just over 3 weeks until release date there is very little information , rumours or general chit chat about the car unlike the GT4! I still think if it comes 3.8 and x73 etc then it may be a more sort after car than the gt4 and there will be a surge in demand on release ! So mrD you may not be able to swap out of gt4 I personally would keep my options open until we know more!
Still think it will be a lightened version of the GTS on 1 April, perhaps a Club Sport. Surely a Spyder needs to be a more exclusive car and deserves the attention of the Motor Sport Division, could this be one of the cars, coming shortly, the Head of the Motor Sport Division has mentioned? The Speedster has established an exclusive role in the 911 range surely the potential for the Spyder in the Boxster range is even greater due to the mid engine lending itself to flowing humps like it's predecessors. Like the GT4 surely we would have heard about a Spyder before now.

I cant see it being the 3.8 engine. Porsche have never jumped that far ahead in terms of the boxster range 2.7, 2.9, 3.2, 3.4. Nor is the motorsport dept dealing with the 981 Spyder. My guess will be a tuned GTS engine. I hope i am wrong!

Some GT4 reviews today stated the Spyder is a 3.8 with 375bhp but non of the sus parts. So normal PASM or x73 and fixed arms etc, just need to know the roof now it seems. To quote a review just released on the GT4 Those who miss out might want to put their name down for the 2016 Boxster Spyder, which gets a 375-hp engine with a manual transmission but none of the chassis parts that make the GT4 so special.

Although the motor sport division not working on it most of the parts were tested on gt4 so things like gt3 steering could be carried over to Spyder ! Hope it has x73over pasm

My info posted yesterday said the roof will be an updated version of the current 2 piece manual roof[;)]

i do not see how anyone can not care about their Spyder values. values = money = deposit on our next toy. the higher the value, the better next toy we can get, these are toys not our daily transport therefore need man maths not everyday maths. if the new Spyder starts at about 62 then a well speced car is going to be 75. that makes a 987/2 Spyder a good buy at 50. that is about another 50% more to get new tech. at about 62 for the new Spyder that is not bad but no one gets no toys on their new toy

If its 3.8 would it be a good guess that the car would be very sort after!? First 3.8 boxster produced and all that.

So assuming my info is correct 3.8L Manual only I can see the original Spyder with PDK shooting up in value compared to the stick shifters which in Gen1 & Gen2 will be as common as muck[;)] [:D][:D]
