Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I paid under £40K for my 3K miler at 2 years old back in 2012. Spyder values are certainly doing well. Tyinsky has what was mine and it's great to see it on here. The Spyder certainly has a strong identity. It's a bit like the 987 consists of Boxster, Cayman and Spyder versions. How much would a current Spyder owner be prepared to pay for a 987 Spyder if they didn't own on, before deciding to opt for a 981 Spyder instead?

i think if anyone can own a sports car for 3 to 4 years and get what they paid for it then that is a win win for me. i paid 40500 for my manual 5500 mile car at christmas 2013. i now have 9750 after 15 months fun and should do about 3-4000 per year. that will take this one of mine up to about 20000 by christmas 2017. at that point i will have a rethink as to what will be next or keep the Spyder i have just got my Sports Design Wheel back from Royal recovered in grey alcantara with red band and stitching, cant wait to get it fitted

ORIGINAL: MrDemon all manual cars sell, big market for them and they never come for sale esp a white manual.
But I am sure 911V have sold many PDK cars without any problems perhaps Tom might pop by and confirm or deny this statement [:D]
PDK sales have outstripped manual sales by a multiple of 3 in respect of volume. Assuming all other things on a car are equal the manual is undoubtedly a quicker seller. Those customers who I've sold too who have bought a Spyder to add to a collection of cars with a focus on investment have all bought manuals. Irrespective of the gearbox though there is no doubt that a nice Spyder is a special thing and although I prefer a manual car, the PDK is an awesome box that marries nicely to the car. I expect prices to continue to rise with the introduction of the new car only solidifying values further. We may see a similar situation over time as has been seen in the relationship between mk 1 and mk 2 996 GT3. Tom 911v

I do hope that shuts a few people up ;-)

You seemed to have conveniently missed off another crucial point [:D] Irrespective of the gearbox though there is no doubt that a nice Spyder is a special thing and although I prefer a manual car, the PDK is an awesome box that marries nicely to the car. I had in mind that if I could get a well spec'd 981 for £20k plus my super skinny 987 then I would definitely change. First good drive this year, last weekend to Silverstone, and there's no way I can see the 981 being worth that difference. The 987 is a great drivers car and the market is waking up to the fact, evidenced by the resale values we're seeing at the moment. IMO, these cars will comfortably move into the £50k+ bracket even if the 981 retains the distinctive looks, rag roof and lightweight ethos for a little over £60k. They are just great cars with enough potential buyers to keep values strong.

1250 on the clock, a bargain for someone. black in not my choice but some people love black. looks like 50K spyders are upon us now and worth every penny

so 50k spyders and collectors not wanting PDK cars. every thing is just happening as I said it would ! just want to take a few bets on the 981 electric roof now. Description is the shittest one to date though. great spec that car but the top things listed are, Top Tint Windscreen, Park Assist, Universal Audio Interface. scary how people even sell cars. this was that private car for sale last week, who remembers what it was up for ?
