Ask not what the Club can do for you... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9foi342LXQE You will see MrD has newly resolved status - you and Mr Wilson may have to wait until Monday but I have alerted the Internet police [;)]

ORIGINAL: flat6 How much would a current Spyder owner be prepared to pay for a 987 Spyder if they didn't own on, before deciding to opt for a 981 Spyder instead?
The 987 is a great drivers car and the market is waking up to the fact, evidenced by the resale values we're seeing at the moment. IMO, these cars will comfortably move into the £50k+ bracket even if the 981 retains the distinctive looks, rag roof and lightweight ethos for a little over £60k. They are just great cars with enough potential buyers to keep values strong.
It's looking like you might be right.

You're the one that goes on about it ad nauseum, isn't it about time you shut up? ;-)
I just said my predictions, people disagree they come true ! you sold yours in a rising market, if one would have taken note to my ramblings one might have sold it for 50k :) 981 has electric roof, I am still the ONLY one saying this :)

I tried the Zunsport ones a couple of years ago. At the time, they did not produce them specifically for the Spyder (just the Boxster S) and unfortunately the way they attach at the top did not work with the flimsy plastic housing we have for the LED running lights (which replaces a more sturdy light unit fitted to the standard Boxster). They were very good about refunding for the return, and did offer to modify their product if I lent them the car as a template. Couldn't be bothered at the time, but I guess if a local Spyder owner wanted to, then that would be an avenue to pursue, as the grilles they sent seemed well made, and they do get good reviews.

After having to replace both A/C condensors, I bought the Zunsports grilles for my Cayman R. They are well made but the fitting is very poor if done the way they recommend. They need extra tie wraps to make them fit properly and keep them secure.

How many more times do I have to point out to you that I haven't sold it? I know that doesn't fit in with your theory that PDK owners don't keep their cars, but daro911 and I obviously love ours as much as you love yours! :)

Thanks guys ..I know about Zunsport but unfortunately not made for the Spyder ,they fit the Cayman and 987 Boxsters ok.I feel the rads are more venerable on the Spyder because of the large aperture .Will have to keep looking, the crazy think is it would invalidate the warranty [:'(]

Be interesting to know how low prices did go before they started to strengthen - what's the lowest known price a Spyder sold for (excluding the Cat D one I seem to remember advertised)? Low £30s for early registrations in mid/late 2012?

I sold a 40,000 miles car a few years ago for £31,000. Nothing wrong with it. Good spec, just a few miles. For us that was the lowest we saw. Tom

That's probably the lowest except perhaps the 60k miler but that would skew the stats. So £31K is a good benchmark.

Assuming all other things on a car are equal the manual is undoubtedly a quicker seller. Those customers who I've sold too who have bought a Spyder to add to a collection of cars with a focus on investment have all bought manuals.
I do hope that shuts a few people up ;-)
The collectors that I deal with ( there are a group of them ) represent probably less than 0.1% of our overall business. They buy cars as objects with little intention of driving them, some never even lay eyes on the car. Don't get too carried away Mr Demon, believe it or not there are still people out there who want to enjoy these cars as the manufacturer intended. They buy them to use them. I think some Spyders are now worth £50,000. Daro owns one, and guess what, its a PDK! There's a market for all good Spyders irrespective of options, colours, transmission types...they all find a home. We've never failed to not sell one. There is more to a car than the things you seem to hold so dear. Try to accept that everything isn't as black and white as you convince yourself it is. Tom

Tom is one Spyderman who does know what he is talking about as he sells them for a living [:D]and can leave all the personal must be this must not be that to one side as he has rightly confirmed their is a Spyderman for all types of 987 Spyders even that Silver/Chocolate Brown interior example will find a home some day[8D] [8D]
