Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I like the new car but much prefer the back end of the old one but the front looks so much nicer imo ...still undecided as to which way to go would love to have both but unsure ...I would defiantly delete the PORSCHE logo looks too heavy and keep the Spyder only .The script on the door side looks neat could very easily change the 918 around to read 981 simples ! If I where to go would keep it basic add in the radio and ac not interested in saving kilos buckets and that is it ..as to colour Yellow or White.

stickers are easy to get done just as you want them, just curious what one would look like in the carrera white metalic with full martini stripes and logos or even in PTS in gulf blue with full gulf logos. i am sure they will do PTS in a couple of years once the rush dies down

The UK brochure includes 'colour to sample' as an option. May be available under Porsche exclusive to get the hue of blue that floats your canoe [:)]

just had a call from my local OPC offering me a 981 Spyder, he did say that the new Spyder will be a limmited run car because of the development of the new turbo 4 engine so the 911 6 wont be available for it to be a year on year production run. he said interest has been lost because there in no PDK and no plans to produce one. if they do only produce a small number (150 was said, perhaps that is for the UK)in manual only this could be the next investment/collectors car. i am very tempted but not without seeing and driving one. in such short supply this will bring up prices of both 981 and 987/2 Spyder prices without a doubt

The deposit they are asking for is fully refundable but by the time you get to see one yet alone drive one all allocation may be sold out[&o] Interesting to see Porsche haven't gone for the stripped down door cards or the uncovered instruments this time around confirming saving every gram isn't all its cracked up to be by the marketing suits[:D]

Just a cash collecting exercise this time around. Those with passion at porsche havent been let a anywhere near this car.

To be perfectly honest who give a stuff if they are or not. It is not like we are all going to buy one if they star stocking a lot is it. This is a totally irrelevant post.

this seems a quick sale anyway...dont need to worry just yet on resale values...possible 981 buyer perhaps ?? http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/947/987SpyderManual/

ORIGINAL: kitchens ...I would defiantly delete the PORSCHE logo looks too heavy and keep the Spyder only I think you can delete the model designation, i.e. Spyder, but not the Porsche name as that stays unless you remove it yourself.

Can't remember if this has been said before ; sorry! The 918 buckets are 'currently out of stock worldwide' so even if you are outside GB you can't configure them or if you can they are unavailable ; guess they are going in other cars first. What's the difference between GT3 and the 918 buckets in reality? Is it weight or just appearance ?

One difference is that GT3 seats can be specified with heating while 918 cannot. Sure someone will find weight difference but if out of stock then that is it. On another subject, any idea why the three colours have been put on stop for GT4? Sapphire blue is one colour I was debating having for Spyder as think it will show curves better than darker colour.

On the GT4 threads the colours mentioned are: Sapphire Blue Carrara White Carmine Red, last one not for Spyder Apparently those colours give a 'Stop Order' but is that only for GT4 and why, just seems odd

ORIGINAL: Andrew Killington Which 3 colours? I'll do some digging
My dealer has been allocated just 3 cars for 2015 July build September & October - Currently no allocation as yet for 2016 my chosen delivery preference [&o]

"Driving the Porsches that beat the 911 at its own game" feature in this months May Evo mag, with pleasing 987 Spyder recommendation including its "delicious sense of balance"..Apparently the GT4 is pretty decent too [:D]
