New page new pic. So the 981 is possibly using the stock X.73 sport chassis but with an even more direct steering set-up [accordingly to the brochure]. I think that plus the extra shove of the 3.8l engine will make it a worthy successor from behind the wheel. Hope they invite you to PEC daro911 and Andrew and you can report back.

Yes will be looking forward to it Americans claiming Carrara white and sapphire blue and carmine red being dropped from GT4 options (unconfirmed)
quote]ORIGINAL: clubsport Daro, I thought you were a paint to sample contender on the 918? I think it would look great in either the 991 RS Lava orange or purple myself! [/quote] Currently PTS on GT4 or Spyder isn't an option [&o]If it is available this is my number 1 choice Voodoo Blue
I'd wait... a late Spyder may have a chance of PTS? Porsche do seem to be calling the shots on cars at the moment though, maybe owners should be grateful that the cars have paint, at the indicated price! Voodoo looks great, as if they mixed classic Rivera and Maritime blue together before spraying!
I am waiting currently have taken last 2015 slot Ocotber build but have requested a March 2016 build as my preferred preferenceORIGINAL: clubsport I'd wait... a late Spyder may have a chance of PTS?
It will still be manual though...thought you where now a PDK convert[] or has Mr D brainwashed you[] [][]ORIGINAL: daro911I am waiting currently have taken last 2015 slot Ocotber build but have requested a March 2016 build as my preferred preferenceORIGINAL: clubsport I'd wait... a late Spyder may have a chance of PTS?
kitchens I happily drive a manual every day I have always said I thoroughly enjoyed my short shift Spyder and when the opportunity arose to get a 900 mile mint car for the right money the PDK wasn't a deal breaker and I have enjoyed every single mile flapping my paddles[] Unlike Mr D I have the ability to adapt and appreciate the past and current/future fashions of changing gears No PDK option on the 981 has saved me thousands of pounds whilst probably increasing the current value of a Spyder with the option that is no longer available[] Win WinORIGINAL: kitchens It will still be manual though...thought you where now a PDK convert[] or has Mr D brainwashed you[] [][]
Unlike Mr D I have the ability to adapt and appreciate the past and current/future fashions of changing gears Unfair ! It's not about being able to adapt, I just find them mind numbing dull. The work load to drive is 60% , I get board, it's easy , you can brake later, change gear mid corner etc etc, it's brain out motoring on a car with only 300 bhp. I had a loan PDK again last week, the 981 PDK is one dull car for me personally. If I lived in a city and had to travel rush hour then yes buy an auto, but you could say why even buy a porsche in the 1st place if that's it's use, buy a Golf R and a exige for the week end. Yes I could lap Donny my local track prob 2 seconds quicker in a PDK but I would hate it, at my level of driving I could put in lap after lap within 0.5 second in a PDK and it would be no fun what so ever, in fact I would never do a track day in again. Lapping a manual at the same speed takes quite a lot of skill, and thought, you cannot make a mistake, you sweat, you feel like you have worked to get the time. I can see why people rave on about GT3 PDK, but go see how they drive, it,s about lapping faster than they could before, gives people a thrill they can now drive fast.
Not at all Mr D it was said with tongue firmly in cheek []ORIGINAL: MrDemon Unlike Mr D I have the ability to adapt and appreciate the past and current/future fashions of changing gears Unfair !

what a nice colour combination with that classic interior. my only concern with a red dash top is reflection in the screen. love itORIGINAL: daro911 Any Spydermen on here committed to a 981yet and if so what's the chosen spec at this stage[&o] I am leaning towards Rhodium Silver or Carrera White with the Classic Interior option

I have Carrera Red in my current Spyder which is lighter than the Garnet Red and I have no problem with windscreen reflections. This is the interior I would have gone for (with Agate Grey) if there was a PDK option !!!!

been out in the Spyder 3 times over the weekend, crakin car. parked it up on lord st southport whilst i did a bit of shopin, it had the roof up coz my wife is from the Philippines and does not like the cold. as i approched the car i thought what a crakin lookin car just removed both the Boxster and the Spyder badges off my car, i just used strong cotton. i ordered sone waterproof double sided badge tape off ebay to replace just the Spyder badge but i have been thinking about just geting some "Spyder" stickers made and putting that on in place as i still have the origional badges. a lot easier to clean and remove and replace origional ones in 5 mins. has anyone done it this way before, easy to clean
