Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

ORIGINAL: C2MTH It's a silver polyester. I've just taken a photo of it on the Spyder but can't upload it, says it's too big. If you PM me your email I'll mail it across...

the dealer prob paid asking imo. you are very neg on prices ! car wanted for nothing£3k to make and if the buyer wants finance then money to be made there.

ORIGINAL: clubsport The Manual red Spyder still looks cheap, considering dealer facilities vs private sale.
how come ? I sell my cars for more than 3rd party dealers sell them for ! why do people talk down private sale prices ? I have always sold private at top end.

I'm no expert but would a dealer sink £36K into a car to put a £2.9K margin on the sticker price, from which he then has no wriggle room to make any profit worth getting out of bed for? If someone offers just £500 under the sticker price he's down to £2.4K. I've never been a car dealer so don't know how slim their margins are but I can see the logic in daro's estimate. £5K sounds more like a dealer's buffer.

i have sold my last 4 cars to the trade, you dont get the best price but you do not get any agro. i will keep my Spyder until about start of good weather 2017 then will mention on here that it is going up for sale with 12 months cover and should have under 18000 on the cloc by then, if no one contacts me within a week then i will offer it to the trade. at that point with good prices if i can get back the 41500 i paid for it i will be so pleased. you have to accept the trade is in it to make as much money as they can but you dont get any joy riders or clowns mesin with your car. with the right colour, right spec, low milage for the year, OPC cover any dealer can make a quick sale and as said can make on finance, offer part ex to make even more money. that is my opinion and i am as mad as they come i sold my top spec Caterham to the trade for 21 and i spoke to the man who bought it. the dealer had it two months and only made 2k

I wish I earnt enough money to think £3k was not worth getting out of bed for. Ps don't forget to offer me your trade ins if you are happy to take £5k under retail, thanks.

IMO there is no way the seller would of accepted much below asking price if anything, why?? Well I called the seller at 0930hrs on Sunday morning, the car sounded spot on even had 11 months porsche warranty remaining. I said I would call him back once I had spoke to a mate to arrange a lift for a viewing, I would of paid asking price for it. Half an hour later I tried calling back to firm up viewing time there was no answer. Was still expecting to view so was all ready to leave tried seller again, went to answerphone. Checked ad, it was marked SOLD. So why would he accept £1000's less than asking when he had at least 1 buyer and probably others prepared to give asking price! I am also surprised though the dealer has priced it at that, would of thought he would of wanted at least 4k in it, maybe he got lucky and got seller to take 35k but like I said I would be surprised if he would knock much off as it was already cheap and had been for sale for less than a day. Was a nice spec car but expect the mileage would put a few off as it was slightly high compared to most spyders.

Where do you get he is going to make £3k! We don't know what he paid for it and assuming it was the full asking price (doubtful) then he has to fund it whilst waiting for that buyer who hopefully wants a loan to turn up with their deposit. As the world and his mother knows what the car was up for and the dealer has owned it 5 minutes if anyone really wanted it and had to pay £37k giving him a minimum return of £1k then they should have put that deal to bed the second it popped back up for sale[8D]
