Never easy to say goodbye![:(][:(]

Never mind the back to back did you both leave details for the new owner to find the forum?[;)]

Yes i did mention this, so fingers crossed we have a new member.

Phil
I'm here [8D]

M1 & M25 for the journey home, lots of traffic on both and its due to rain all weekend.....still the summer is just round the corner [:)]

Hello Martin,

Nice that you have joined the best thread online!... Hope the travel back was ok and you switched on the "noise" button!!

Phil

Thanks for the welcome all, I see we have all of the cars owners on here, I promise to look after her [:)]

Yes noise and sport buttons right next to each other, just have to press them both... every journey.

Having a chequered car history with a detour through Blackpool I must admit to being underwhelmed with the additional noise, are there any ways to increase the volume a little ?

Little blast round the lanes yesterday, feels very similar to my old Boxster obviously but just that bit more focused. There were a few puddles to avoid as I could feel the wrath of Phil if there was a speck of dirt present :ROFLMAO:

My neighbour couldn't believe the car was nearly 6 years old [8D]

Don't we need a Spyder sub forum, too much on one little thread !

Martin

Hi Martin

Congratulations on your new car and welcome to the Boxster register.

If you would like to send club office your details I can add you to the Boxster database and you will receive emails etc from me in the future.

Regards

Tracy

Glad your enjoying the Spyder Martin. And yes, next time i see it i will be expecting the same level of condition!! :ROFLMAO:

Not sure on the sound but im sure someone will come along and help on that!

Has anyone found anywhere that sells protection for the bucket seat bolsters?

Sorry another Spyder pic! [:)]

Phil

Martin Mr Demon has changed the sound track on his Spyder with some mods to the manifolds & cats I think but I am sure he will pop by and put the facts up again - In the meantime this guys made his wheel/tyres much louder :ROFLMAO:

I have indeed, Cargraphic Manafolds with stock back box

mic next to exhaust flaps open

[link=https://youtu.be/NUXq8r-BD4o]https://youtu.be/NUXq8r-BD4o[/link]

mic in car. flaps open

it's mega and a big reason people seem to love the 981 is noise, well the 987.2 can do it also :)

I did it for loads of extra mid range peformance though ie 300lb/ft torque over the stock 273.

By the many photos of PTS Spyders making their way to owners; does this mean these are the only cars left to come from the factory now?

Maybe we will start to see the end of people getting their pride and joys.

I have read that production rocks on until July summer shut down I guess so plenty more PTS to come out the factory gates between now and then [8D]

Fab speed package for GT4/Spyder

[link=http://www.planet-9.com/981-boxster-spyder-chat/128922-owner-review-fabspeed-gt450-performance-package.html]http://www.planet-9.com/9...rformance-package.html[/link]

un usable system imo, it would be so loud with that exhaust and not pass an MOT !! 450bhp is also generous !!

good point, although you would have thought the USA would have been more stringent on noise!

do you think they are overplaying the power gains??

A lot has happened in the last 18 months with tuning 9x1 engines. Back then people were throwing intake and exhaust parts at the cars and getting very little improvement. It is a 'golden' period with OBD tune access. I like the comment about 100 miles on car and then running it to nearly 8k rpm - brave.

It is a bit naive to think these ECU tunes are not detectable if a full factory level enquiry is requested by the factory in the event of a engine warranty claim; dealer servicing not a problem reading the ECU, although they might spot the louder exhaust. [;)]
