My thoughts were that the 718 Spyder (if it does come) could well be 4cyl. I think they may use it to showcase what they can do with the flat four and leave the 718 GT4 with a six. So, as possibly the last flat six Boxster, I decided to spec it without any regrets.

These are special edition models so i think the engine will remain a 6 pot.
I sincerely hope so anyway.
Cheers Cliff.

Platinum Silver Immaculate Boxster Spyder - Purist Spec - Manual - Short Shift - Carbon Buckets - Spyder 19" unmarked alloys - Porsche Sports Exhaust - Sports Chromo - Nubuck Edged Overmats - Aux In - Radio - Cruise Control I am having to sell my Spyder due to lack of use. The car was ordered and delivered to Glasgow OPC on 31/3/2011 new by the first owner (hence it being specced imo correctly)! He kept it until around 9k miles and then part ex'd it at Border Cars for a motorhome. The last owner purchased it as a stop gap whilst his GT3 was on order and only had it a few months before it went into Edinburgh OPC. I purchased at the back end of 2014. The car has had its first service at 9k miles and then the major service with plugs etc at 11500 miles. Both of these services are OPC. I drove the car for around 5700 miles last year before taking it off the road at the end of November as no point in using it in Winter where it can get dirty / salty. I bought it back out mid March and spent almost £900 with Nine Excellence last month having an interim oil change, brake fluid change, coolant change and fast road geo set up. The car didn't need servicing until the end of this year, but i am the 6k mile kinda oil change guy! The car also has OPC warranty until the end of December this year and the OPC roadside assistance. Condition wise the interior hasn't a mark on it bar some small scuffs to the driver plastic sill cover where the boot and bonnet release are. This is a generic 987/997 part which could be replaced easily. The bonnet also has a few small stone chips but only really visible due to the light colour of the car. Otherwise the alloys are unmarked and there are no dents / scratches. I am very picky and looked for 3-4 months before finding this and flying up to Scotland to collect. Tyres have 3-4mm across the tread and are N spec PS2. The car drives like a dream and is super tight and very pointy. I am very anal about keeping things maintained so they drive like they should and I am sure any prospective buyer will see this. The car is always garaged and have only run it on V Power or Esso Supreme the odd time a Shell isn't around. Any inspection welcome although this would be at the buyers expense. The previous owner is also on PH so can confirm how good it was in his ownership. With regards to Rev ranges, it had 10 hits in range one when I purchased and have touched it only on the way up around 4 / 5 times. Not sure how many ranges it will relate to but trying to be as transparent as possible. I know how to drive manuals properly so not hits on the way down at all! As said only due to lack of use having a young child and business to run am I selling. Will be back in the future but time to say goodbye for now. All invoices from original purchase to servicing are including plus books which are all in mint condition.
It's quite a few years since I went, but I have to agree - don't go there with a "Trackday" mindset on a public day. Unless you've done lots of laps by gaming, then too much track to learn in a few laps, and the mix of other users is quite alarming! Much better to treat it like a drive down a B road, safe in the knowledge that there shouldn't be anyone coming the other way []MrDemon said:Looks fun, I had avoided the Ring, most people who have gone who I trust have put me off it, I'll have to try a proper track day there one day rather than the open days.

My claim to hall of fame would be have experienced both short shift manual & paddle shift PDK ;-) and expect to be experiencing my 3rd Spyder hopefully in about 2 weeks from now as I believe it came out of the factory yesterday/todaySteve Brown said:Out of interest, what is the current mix of new : old : previous owners on here?
I've had my (May 2010 registered) 987 since February 2011, so consider myself to be in the "old" bracket
