Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

more OPC 981 Spyers than GT4 % wise now over UK sold cars , not the keepers people said they were !

Also a glut of BGTS for sale form about 3 to 12 odd ! So much for flat 6 love as people just buy the new models.

so I am still holdling out and if prices don't drop it's an R8 run about for me. £93k car for £60k and hydrolic steering and a V8 manual :)

what's not to like ?

Happy new year :)

Lets have some Audi Love for the new year :p and page

Hi all Spydermen. Can anyone tell me how many 987 Cayman R's came into the UK? Thinking of adding one to the garage next to the Spyder in the new year.Cheers all much appreciated.

What no V10 MrD ! Keep the 987 spyder it's simply the best drop top , tune the gt4 to 400bhp+ and drive a cheap 981 CS non pasm 19" wheel as a daily!

Keeping the 987.2 Spyder is always a given :)

tuning the GT4 will happen if I don't get a manual 4l GT3

i just need a sexy run about and the 981 range don't seem like value to me, over the V8 R8

also I cannot gel with a basic 981 , never liked any of them really plus the steerings dire IMO, And when looking at GTS cars that opened up R8’s which seem a far cooler buy.

last of an era also with manual box and V8 so finding nicer low miles cars is only getting harder.

evora 400 is a shout 2nd hand at £55k also.

Good choice, PM me, I might sell mine to fund something else, white , manual, full driver spec, + AC, really nice car, but will not be at the cheaper end of the market. But as the markets flooded with PDK's , manual are a rarer site 2nd hand Esp in a good spec.

"Belated Happy New Year" to all the Spyder owners!

2016 highlight for me, was taking the Spyder over to Spa to watch the F1. The drive over there made me want to do some more UK and esp Euro adventures in the Spyder this year.

One of Santa's gifts was the "Porsche Drive" book. The driving roads in this book look amazing!! Has anyone else on the forum got any recommendations on driving roads they have been on in Europe?

We took our Spyder on a your of Northern Spain last June following a suggested route from Brittany Ferries:

We found some fantastic driving roads and great hotels (Paradors) and found the tour to be very good value. Here's a photo taken at a coffee stop en route to Oviedo. You'll have to click on the link itself as I can't figure out how to upload photos onto this forum!

Hi Ian

Sounds like you had a good trip.

I wasn't aware that Brittany Ferries did tours.

Nice route etc. May look at them for possible future WOTY.

Hi John

Yes, Brittany Ferries tour are well worth a look. There was a group of us on this trip which made it more enjoyable. This photo was taken in

the main plaza in front of the Parador in Santiago de Compostela where to our embarrassment some of our group became the centre of attention!

Happy New Year to one and all. Here's hoping that 2017 will bring us all that we hope for.

Thank goodness I never SORN my cars! What a gorgeous bright and sunny January day yesterday. I just had to get the little beauty out from under her warm and cosy cover in the garage for a spritely run in order to keep the engine, transmission, oil seals and brakes etc in good order! However, I did keep the car's hat on as there was a bit of a chill in the air (well it is January!), but at least the roads were dry and unsalted........... and so it was back to the warmth for a wash and wax (that's the car by the way!) in readiness for the next bright and dry road day - lets hope its soon :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Hi all again - I appear to be having trouble inserting an image with my last post and still not being successful. I've tried all ways, but to no avail. Any ideas ?

I know your pain.

I've tried and given up on posting pics here.

I wish it was as simple as PH's/rennlist etc...

May be we should start a thread telling of our woes []

Thank goodness I'm not on my own with this problem. It appears that I can upload a link for an attached pic, but not insert it in the text body. Perhaps I'll have a word with the club, or Daro911 posts a lot, I dare say he might give us a clue. Help, Daro, where are you ??

Daro has kindly given me instructions in the past, but I still can't sort it.

Life should be this complicated post Brexit :ROFLMAO:

Yes, now there's another conundrum ! Ah ha. I've just sussed it. [:)] I opened the picture file with Microsoft Office Picture Manager (free with the Microsoft Office bundle). Then click on "Edit Pictures", then click on "Compress File". Then "Save As" (whatever you wish to name it as) on your computer. Once done, the forum will then be able to upload it. Once uploaded, you hover the curser over it and click on "Insert". Yippee do dah [:D] I'm sure there is another way, but hope that helps. Good luck.
