I have spent so long washing and polishing mine today its gleaming ...... I am thinking I might keep it! :)

I just got itchy feet when I saw, or should I say heard the 981 spyder start up

Last Saturday dawned nice and sunny, so a drive out into the Trough of Bowland seemed in order.
Nice picture Spyder looking very nice indeed and I too was out and about and someone unknown to me took my picture []:ROFLMAO:

i joined the Spyder Owners Club website. Mostly German owners at the moment, but at least 3 Brits on it too.

The germans refer to black ones like mine as "Darth Spyder" and the more commonly seen white ones as "Stormtroopers". Not sure how they would refer to daro's blue one or kitchen's red one

Sadly that German site doesn't seem to be very user friendly other than for the guy who set it up - Still has a lonnnnng way to go to beat the UK Spydermen on here :ROFLMAO:

I would not disagree with those comments. But it is a Spyder specific website and will surely improve. And it will certainly give opportunities to take our Spyders over to Germany: they have an annual meeting and had 20 Spyders at the last one, etc etc

It is a pity we cannot have a Spyder specific section here on PCGB website, rather than posting everything to one thread

The Boxster Spyder comes under the Boxster Register the thread here is where a lot of Boxster Spyder owners post.

Tracy worked hard to keep this thread Are Spyders Becoming extinct at OPCs because of the amount of content posted here.

Each Register costs PCGB money and content space and the Boxster Spyder is in such small numbers in the club it comes under the Boxster Register after all it's a Boxster.

Tracy includes every model of Boxster including the Spyder so no one should feel excluded.

Hope this clarifies your question paul08

Cliff

Thanks for that response.

My comment was really one of noting that all things Spyder are in a single thread, which means it does jump around a bit.

Are 'sub forums' as expensive to set up as a new forum/register? if the answer is 'yes', then I am happy to carry on using the current Spyder thread

Paul

I believe my Spyder is 1/1 in the "entire world" with full leather buckets & PTS - A true future collectors spec!

This may be controversial but is not a criticism of the Boxster Register or its organiser - having been a Regional Organiser a few years ago I understand and appreciate the amount of effort required to run a Region or a large (the largest?) Register. I don't feel excluded as a Spyder owner but I do think there's an argument to have a separate register for Boxsters produced in smaller numbers or limited editions, e.g. Boxster 550 Spyder, RS60 Spyder, 987 Spyder and 981 Spyder. After all, there is a separate register for almost every incarnation of 911, some of which, e.g., 911 Sportomatic, 930 Turbo SE, surely must have smaller numbers than the smaller number/ limited edition Boxsters.

I agree without undermining the excellent work that Tracy & Cliff do for the Register there is a valid question to be asked why not a sub section for the models mentioned by Ian .

You only need to see the posts started way back in Sept 2012 by Robert (Daro911) 18.197 Posts 267.445 Hits ,no other topic in the whole of the forum attracts these numbers .Some registers do not even get a response once a week .Perhaps it is some thing the moderators /board could look at .This will not detract from the great work done by the Boxster Register .

As an ex Speedster owner it saddens me to see they have an expensive Forum space where hardly anyone ever goes[]

Maybe this will change when 991.2 Speedster hits the streets but in the meantime its dormant as usual
