Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

I disagree about extra Register's Regions and sub forums there are just a very few that have these and most show no content others could be merged in the future in my view as they are a drain on resources.

Most people who own a Boxster Spyder post here which are in very small numbers on the Register as said Tracy worked hard to keep Are Spyders Becoming extinct at OPCs thread going when the site had its revamped.

If you look at modern registers such as 997 / 991 they cover every model up to turbos & RS

So keep enjoying to post under this thread if you so wish.

it's very hard to find Spyder questions though so every new comer asks the same things 911 (always bloody 911's) pages later one cannot go back though them to find anything.

as a reasonably infrequent user I was going to ask about retro fitting the short shifter to my 987.2 spyder but I know it's probably buried somewhere in the 911 or so pages so will need to carve out some time to trawl through them for the answer. Not ideal unless I can figure out the search functionality. But appreciate the limitations on forum size etc

Great thanks will do. May ask the opc for a price next time I am in. Don't want to invalidate my warranty.
Its definitely worth having it fitted if you like changing gogs:ROFLMAO: From what I understand as long as you use official Porsche parts a non OPC can fit it and not invalidate the warranty and OPC's will often price match Porsche Specialist prices if you ask nicely [;)]

Thanks. That's really helpful. Can anyone recommend a porsche specialist in Glasgow area/west of scotland? I will do a google search but word of mouth is always preferable.

Only 2 981 Spyders on OPC website today so a sunny day and out come the buyers. Compares with 18 GT4,s. Convinced he Spyder will catch up the GT4 on value in the long run maybe overtake it.

Are there any rumours on a 982 Spyders yet?

And...

Was it difficult to get an allocation on 981 Spyders?
I know of 4 981 Spyder owners who never placed an order even after it was launched 01/04/15! Yet still managed to get a car one was ordered as late as December 2015

I also have a friend who was offered a car in January 2016 after missing out at same dealer initially but by then he had decided not to buy as he was convinced, like the 987 Spyder, he would probably loose a substantial amount of money so decided to let this late in the day option go to the next one on the dealers hit list

A little early for any info on the 982 Spyder

I think all Spyder owners hope this happens [;)] 987 prices have gone up as well , try buying one for under £45K still a bit away from 2010 launch price £58K.

I noticed a gt4 on the locator at the local opc. Went on yesterday at £93k and it's gone this morning. Was a blue one only 1100 miles. Where are porsche uk getting all these low mileage gt4s and 981 spyders? Are people trading them in to take advantage of the price premium? Are they porsche driver experience cars now leaking on to the market? Or are porsche pre-reg them and holding them back to take advantage of the price premium? Surely not when so many people had orders unfulfilled but would be interesting to see who the previous owner was on the log book.
