Ha! - no upholstery foam; a narrow garage with lots of bike and pedestrian traffic - better to be safe than sorry.
kitchens said:Agree not sure how the next one can improve on the 981 .
1: better steering feel like the 991.2 GT3
2: An engine which makes BHP to redline
3: no fake sounds to give me a head ache the GT4 was perfect the 981 Spdyer annoying
4: shorter gearing
5: smaller wheels
6: Adjustable sus arms all round
7: wider tyres, really needs 245/275 with this power.
8: GT3 electronics not base boxster ones, the PSM is nanny ! 9: Apple car play
10: at least 50 kg lighter
11: An electric roof , now you cannot take it out may as well make it electric so you can use it more of the time.
12: able to open the boot roof up
there you go for starters
Do you think it can all be achieved for the price of a 981 Spyder - No me neitherMrDemon said:kitchens said:Agree not sure how the next one can improve on the 981 .

Cliff the roof is so easy imagine all those motors that would be needed to power up the rear deck drop the roof and then power the deck back down []MG the extra weightCLIFFWILKINS said:Electric roof in this day and age would be good.[]

none of that would cost extra bar the roof design. every thing is made /done for other cars as is.
save 50kg in the seats and battery alone. Porsche seats are stupid imo VERY heavy and VERY expensive all other brands use an off the shelf 1/2 the weight Recaro carbon pole. !
I think they'll always shun an electric roof. It's part of the 'story'.

That'll be the original one then!
Re the new 718 version, all seems to have gone a bit quiet with the scoop shots and info leaks?

Well we all know which one you should never have bought after condemning it from day one of its launch and then buying a used one off the showroom floor[] talk about learning the hard way

You have to play the games some times to get the better cars, so a small price to pay to end up with the cars I own now.

We are talking two different cars. Still have a hankering for my old 987 from time to time.
One of these day we will get caught with our pants down.[:-]
Porsche could change the definition of limited production to 7.500 cars instead of 250 []

I am sure the next ones will be far easier to get, 718 not selling that well, and if they can sell more Spyders and GT4 then why not, it's production line limited, so less 718 sales, more Spyder sales, they are not going to have a production line with no cars on it. none of the cars are ltd ed only cars like the 911 R and Sports classic were LTD, every thing else is production line spaces , they are still making 911 GT3 T's as they have spaces on the line it seems and people waiting to buy. we had 500 odd GT4's In the end and 400 odd new GT3, and they are still making RS and T's
they already prob sell more GT cars then base 911's worldwide already.
I would guess due to lower sales a new Spyder will be easy to get, most got them who wanted them last time, it's a tiny market.
they filled spaces with the base 911T but they are not selling either, over hyped cars to swallow people who failed to get a GT3 slot and most dealers have 2 in their showrooms as we speak not selling > over 35 for sale on the OPC network and many more off book at OPC sites.
bit of a flop for Porsche that one.
could be a nice buy at £50k as a daily in 2 years.
You say they are still making GT3 touring ? I'd not heard that, are they supplied into the UK market ?
geoff lane said:I guess you have the original as the keeper, the 981 has probably cost you very little, a lot less than £40k overs to get a GT3 and you could spec it yourself, sounds good business all round.

TGE off you tube seems to think he has a build slot for a GT3 T and there seems to be many 991 RS 's ordered still.
they will build as many as they can fit on the line before the 992 rolls out.
