Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

OPC comment took me back a bit too. From Spy Shots, seems Spyder/GT4 ready and likely for LA November show. Then 992 at Geneva. (Macan in Paris this week). If Spyder / GT4 based with GT3 engine that would make sense. But bringing out old GT3 engine (by then) based Spyder/GT4 after 992 seems a strange decision. Could account why back of 718 Spyder/GT4 and 992 Carrera are very similar (exhaust wise). (i.e. No GT3 engine). But I can see 992 more important than small output cars though and if also ready ........ (Who Knows....!) Not sure they would want car mag tests of new 992 and GT4 at the same time.

Yeah, all the speculation is that it will have the NA engine from the current GT3. If that proves to be correct then I think it points to an earlier release date.

there has never been any speculation of a GT3 engine !
Every article I've read about the forthcoming Spyder has said it will likely have the GT3 engine, albeit detuned to give lower BHP than the GT3.

I would have thought 992 LA Show as it will be in production by then and 718 GT4 / Spyder Geneva 2019 [&:] 911 usually launches before the other 2 sports cars

Most had around £6/8K extras added ...doubt even when the 718 is available you will pick up a 981 for any where near list price off £60K ...still a big premium for the resale Red ones :ROFLMAO:

Well shows how much motoring journalists know! So a turbo seems inevitable, I just hope its got 6 cylinders . . .

Porsche don't make a Flat 6 Turbo engine that can fit the 718 engine bay [&:]

Some I have been looking at have only s couple of grands worth of extras and still mid to late £ 70s

I mean to be honest it's a sports car why do you need to spend big for on extras maybe heated seats maybe met paint A/C was a no cost option as was radio.

Nice enough car without overload only my opinion of course .

they don't but if you want a GT3 engine in a Spyder then it's £300k

Hi Flat6 great shot of your budding racing driver son and I hope your 2019 season doesn't prove as tough for you guys as I know you both give 100% effort 100% of the time

Look forward to a season round up once you both get to put your feet up and reflect on 2018[s4]

Cheers Rob.

Looking forward to hearing if you plan to take the plunge on the next Spyder ;-)

Do you think you'll be upgrading?

Always thinking :ROFLMAO: but until one knows the final specification, options and of course price to change its too early to make that call and would I be able to get another PTS which hasn't been on the option list in 2018 [&:]

In the interim I continue to thoroughly enjoy the current example[8D]

Great video Brian

Thanks for sharing the video. I know his feeling! I guess all owners do.

Tomorrow seems like OK Spyder weather so off the the Bicester Scramble. Late ticket so in the general parking. Anyone else going?

Hi Chris what was the Scramble like weather was very pleasant too

Excellent. Very warm after the initial chill. Really Busy and several '00 PCGB porsches. Huge range of vehicles of all ages. Well worth a visit next time. Only saw one white 987 Spyder and briefly one black 981 Spyder though. Saw lots of people looking at mine. A few photos on twitter @babyspyder16
