Are Spyders Becoming Extinct At OPCs!

If there are going to be two versions of the 718 Boxster Spyder

My thinking would be a Spyder with a 4.0 GT3 engine would push the price beyond a lot of

otherwise potential buyers.

Maybe the other version would be in line with previous Spyders obviously a slight increase with inflation.

Be nice if there is a PDK version as Brian has said.

Only time will tell with all the speculations.

The 718 Boxster GTS at £65K is faster than a 911 Cab at £86K. You have to get to a 911-S Cab at £96K before getting to the downgraded GT3 engine assumed specs (420bhp). Would they take the Boxster range into the 911 price bracket ??. Surely it would kill off the 911 Cab especially if 200Kg lighter like the old Spyder. (except they hardly sell any base cabrios) - or you buy a 911 and they wont sell any Spyders. I would think £75K is the max for a Spyder.

Can't see why Porsche would bother making 2 different versions of a limited edition model and by limited I also mean appeal wise especially for the daily drivers of 718's As far as price goes for a longtime used examples were selling for £80K +++ so a brand new F6 version could probably stand that area of pricing from the get go IMO

Depends if you are including Options or not. Most used at £80K+++ are well spec'd. I was talking base prices.

I was talking the usual List + circa 6-8k in options so circa £66-68k OTR when brand new [;)]
