Haven't seen you on these pages for a long time.! I think a combination of lack of development time coupled with the ramifications of WLTP meant that the introduction of a PDK option wasn't possible at the simultaneous launch of the Spyder and Cayman GT4. I believe that Q4 2020 is a likely PDK introduction date for both cars, although it could be sooner.

Hi Jeff
Yeah i'm seldom on here now as I don't have a Porsche. Those days are over whilst I focus on funding my son's racing (it's not easy with no sponsorship!). But I am enjoying a 4C much more than I thought I would. It's a brutal, eager little thing and much better with the mid-cycle steering revision they did.
I think the Spyder will be very popular with PDK.
How's the Cayman?
Excellent.! I can't believe I've had the Cayman for 10-years now, but still enjoying the occasional blast and track day; and it's very much a fun day and Sunday toy which makes driving it more of an event.
Still holding out for a (manual) 718 GT4, but not really that hopeful of success for all the usual reasons. I might consider a 981 GT4 if the prices drop to a sensible level, although it looks as though there's going to be an 718 F-6 GTS with a detuned version of the Spyder/GT4 engine coming out soon which might spike my interest. We'll see.
All the best, and good luck to your lad.
Jeff
