I'm not dying...well I hope not....average mortality age for me is 68 .I plan to beat that by a long way...fingers crossed I'll still be tearing up the tarmac for years to come....:)
I think we're all dying once we've passed 21 Pete, just taking our time over it. Stay safe and well. Looking forward to a meet in the not too distant future. Keep tearing up the tarmac.

True Phil... IIRC at 21, you begin losing grey matter cells at approx 100,000 per day... I guess that explains why my head is in such a state today...:)

Gave the old girl a good machine polish today, still have more to do but this was a good start and it was so nice to see a proper shine.

Some pictures to share

Not bad for a 34-year-old car, even if she had a full respray over 20 years ago...tomorrow, I'll apply the really shiny stuff...:)

Pete

Looking great!

Coincidentally I polished mine from Guards Pink to Guards red last weekend. Did it by hand, in three stages, using a finer polish each time. If I knew how to upload pictures I'd do so. But that's even harder than polishing.

Hi Pete,

I still follow all your posts and have enjoyed reading about the progress over the years.

The car is certainly looking superb after your polishing on Thursday.

It is many years since we last met but hopefully we will be able to get together soon time soon.

Thanks, Chris, I try to keep her good.. according to my wife, I'm very 'trying at times' :) Yes it would be good to meet up once this is all over although I suspect that it won't be this year... My memory is telling me (not a good thing to rely on these days) that I last saw you at Croxley Green at one of the classic meets, you may have been with the local PCGB region...I don't think we spoke or that you saw me, I just have this recollection of you driving past me in the 993 when my wife and I were heading away from that area.

Hope you are well and keeping safe..

Pete

So, today I did the essential shop... literally a few miles to Morrison's and back. By god do I need to get out in this car and stretch her legs properly, she has never run so good nor felt so eager to go, like a racehorse at the start of a race.. biting on its bit, raring to go.

Life can be so cruel at times...:(

Pete

it could be worse Pete.....you could be in my situation and every time you go in the workshop you see your 944 turbo head,..valves,...Valve springs, staring at you and asking you ..”What the F@@K are we doing on this BENCH!!!!” 😂😩😁

I'm not so sure about that Dan... yes it's upsetting to have the car in bits but when the sun is out and the car is sitting there raring to go, I wonder which of us is suffering the most...:(

i suppose i have to give you that now as ive got my other porsche to go out in...............But it’s not a beast! like my 944 turbo!!!....😉

I can't wait to get out...still waiting for Porsche to reopen so that my son can dothe other parts to the car...when he takes the dash out I may suggest he sets the Vitesse jumper switches to the next set up. There are 3 in total, the car is currently set on the tamest setting, the others are more aggressive with the ignition/fuel...should be interesting...:)

I don't...having driven for years at 368bhp at 1 Bar boost and standard redline....I don't need a dyno to tell me she's way over 400bhp..it took another £12k and 1.5 bar of boost to do it though...the differences between the car now and back then are massive..:)

Pete, you remind me of an 80 year old man, with an 18 year old wife. You should be in the Rolling Stones :ROFLMAO:.

Be good to know the figure Pete for what the components @ tune that you’ve used are capable of to give all us that are highly modifying our 944 turbos some info😉

18 year old wife?... hmm...once upon a time I'd have said 'yes please' however, I'm far too damn old for fast women and fast cars these days...:)

Perhaps one day Dan...money goes on more important things these days...I dread to think how much a session with Wayne is today...if the car wasn't running so well I'd be forced to but it is and I have far better things to spend my cash on, what little there is in retirement

totally agree with you there, there’s always more important things to spend money on mate, enjoy it mate sounds excellent!

No not my car this time...

Son number two is always telling me his car will beat mine, perhaps it will with him at the wheel, he's a rather talented driver.. anyway, this appeared on Facebook tonight. This is Auto Torque in Aylesbury, my son recently took his Cossie there for some geo setup work.... Auto Torque have now shared a number of pictures that they took during this work, I guess they liked his car, hell, I do too, it is rather special...:)

cheers

Nice, but the 86-88 Cosworth is the daddy road version. I did have those wheels on mine though.

I know a lot of Cossie fans who would disagree with you on that one..My son has owned two Sierra based versions, his friends have owned various types too, including the RS500...they all wanted the Escort as it was the dream car to own...all great cars but I think you'll find that the Escort Cosworth is seen as the top dog in most Fast Ford circles...

Pete

Pete,

Your lad should be very proud of that, certainly looks clean. Not often you come across one that looks that good.

Never been into fords but that could certainly sway me!

Cheers

Matt
