Building a 400bhp+ 2.5 ltr 944 Turbo

Funny you say that...I hope to never drive her on a wet day again. Need to decide on how to protect her, the planned carport would be a start but I think I'll refrain from using any sort of cover to avoid any small blemishes appearing in the paintwork. My new home is on a hill which gets a little windy at times meaning a cover is a bad idea.
Too good to drive Pete. Sell your engine to pay for the ceramic polish, lob in a standard lump and let it appreciate in a dry warm corner............

I've seen a few threads where by chips away and other smart repair company's will not work on ceramic coated cars -maybe something to consider
I guess now its back on the Dyno that go-faster red must have added a few extra BHP

I'm not sure of the reason's but record my son saying that he no longer supports using ceramic clear coat due to reasons which escape me.
As for dyno's or fast driving, those days are over, from now on she will be used sparingly for car shows/meets...no more daily driving...🙂

I thought you have a garage at the new place Pete? Time to build one, if you haven't blown the pension on the new paint :).
 
And there I was expecting to be the first person to comment that to avoid stone chips a dyno would be a good place to run it . . . . . beaten by Ken 🤣

So, no fast driving, no daily driving - only car shows and meets, where one of the questions for a modified car will ALWAYS be "So, how much power does it have now?" I really can't understand why you don't stick it on a dyno for 3 power runs to see what it makes after all the extensive work you've done on the engine 🤷‍♂️

Garage has been extended/converted into the new workshop...there is plenty of room to add a carport...i may buy a kit in new year hoping for January sales price drop.
Now that I've been advised to not use a cover I'll need to sort something out.

Priorities change with age, those days of dyno meets for the UK 944 League charts are in the past. I have no need to prove the engine, I'm not ruling out a trip to Wayne's one day but unlikely. I'll enjoy what time I have left polishing and improving the cars looks...🙂

I plan to chemi-bolt it into the hard standing...but yes the high winds on this hill mean extra care is required.
Not sure I understand your priorities fella. Many thousands spent on a top quality restoration, only to effectively leave the car outside.

Priorities are governed by abilities...my days of driving are drawing to a close...Hopefully I'll still be able to build things long after I can no longer drive, hence the workshop. The boys can then take custody of the car.
 
What do you expect that they will do with the car?
Good question...most likely outcome is my wife will sell it but personally I'd like it to go to my eldest as he's the one who has serviced and kept it running for me.

I had a few Triumph Stags in the late 80's, but if my old man had left me his Stag, I'd still have it today.

Yes...I can understand that🥰....one thing I want the family to treasure is my model locomotive as its all built by my hand and testimony to my skill which should mean something. It's also well known across the globe and thus easily recognised as to who built it. Mind you the car engine was built by my own hand so that may have some sentimental value to the kids, 3 of the boys are car nutters...🙂

I'm currently in negotiation with son Peter over the fate of Beaky.

I really need to find it a new home as I don't want to move it to South Wales. The sea air would kill it and it is awful around the lanes.

You need to recommision Beaky mate...enjoy the car again...🙂
