N/a yes. PDK looks doubtful Dean - so far none of the video clips of both GT4 and Spyder development cars indicate that the road cars will have it, even though the racecars will, as before.

Thought it was interesting the recentry published images of the alleged 718 Cayman T (with 4 cyl turbo engine) has almost identical exhausts to the recent alleged 718 GT4 images. Same location. Same look. Same everything. Just saying.......

I thought that too at the time, and it was suspected that the new GPF filters may need an exhaust change. However, I think the GPF is fitted into the catalytic converters and the old style double barrel exhausts remain.
In which case, I wonder if the Cayman T (or whatever it is) will get a further detuned NA flat six engine...

The T, GT4 and Spyder new generation have horizontally opposed cylinders so whether the exhausts combine at some point (a la 981) or not is not a strong indicator of engine type. I thought the T, based on USA VIN range filings was a 718 base model derivative with 2.0L F4T engine and with a faux diffuser styling mimicking the GT4.
But of course nobody knows..

According to Christophorus magazine, the flat 4 turbo engines will have a single large diameter GPF fitted, the flat 6 engines have 2 GPF's, one for each bank.
Even now that I've made the decision to purchase a 718 Cayman GTS PDK with PCCB, I'm very interested in whatever the power units/gearboxes are in the 718T and GT4.
The 4.0 normally aspirated GT4 seems a given, as does the 2.0t for the 718T. A 2.5t 718T would be too close in performance to the GT4.
That's my thinking anyway.

I thought the 718T would be a parts bin special like the 911T, so I'm not sure creating an exhaust unique to that model would make sense. That's why I'm wondering if it's an NA flat six, or more likely it's part of the facelift the 718 must be getting in the near future.

Whilst Nobody Knows is the current bottom line, the 992 announcement tonight (tomorrow AM) may assist (or confuse) discussions when the new Carrera S engines are confirmed, as used for the old GT4/Spyder. It may also give some leads as to why some 992; GT4; Spyder and T shots all have the same rear end, although the German forums suggest there will be two Spyder (B4T and NA6 RS) options (when we have only ever seen one rear view style in "spy" shots).

I don't see the 992 announcements making any difference - 992s will use updated versions of the 991.2 engines. The new GT4 (and most likely the Spyder too) will have an NA flat six based on the need to homologate the 982 GT4 Clubsport that was seen at Monza in October for the 2019 race season.
I'm expecting a press release on the GT4 within the next couple of weeks to allow it to race at the ROAR on January 3rd.

Contrary to what I think will happen, I've just been told by my OPC that it's going to be late 2019 until we see the GT4 and Spyder. That could tie in with a Geneva release like the last one.
However, it doesn't allow the Clubsport to race in the 2019 season unless homologation has already happened and the road car release will be after the race car. Not sure if that's possible or not.
