Cayman GT4: Where are we up to now?

Tonto1 said:
500 miles on mine since picking it up on Friday afternoon. It's good, very good!!

I think you're based north of the border Mathew - there can't be too many GT4s up there at the moment. Continue to enjoy the car.

So what colour/spec did you go for?

wait is over, saw my own car today, pick it up tomorrow :)

does not feel real still.

Sounds good, have you had any suspension settings changed yet, or waiting to drive it first ??

I have had the rear changed to full stiff from the go, but I have not changed the front to full soft , I'll drive it 1st and see where the balance is.

which will be in 1 hour ;-)

Clearly if the GT4 is not to your liking you can give me a call to discuss reuniting you with your old CR in exchange for the GT4 - plus cash of course (I'll not ask you for much cash tough!) [:D]

Have fun and hope you like it,

Mick

I've covered 75 miles today. Precision steering, re-assuring acceleration, grip and firm suspension as I headed up the M40 into Oxfordshire. The imposing front air dam gives the car great presence.

The exhaust tones whether you're accelerating or decelerating are pure music. The car is a total delight.

Yes, very Yellow D....

A cracking car and you're very lucky to have one. Now please don't tell me that you're going to flip it just to make a few quid.

Jeff

I suppose you could sell high and buy something like an R8 or a used McLaren, but watch out for high running costs on the latter.

Much better to stick with what you've got, I think; run it for a year or so and then decide what to do. I'm sure prices will hold up reasonably well in that time. You've got a good spec too.

Just my tuppence worth of course.

I have no idea what to do :-(

but yes lucky, esp with the spec seats etc.
Maybe with these seats/spec there will always be a decent premium anyway, esp if they don't become an option again.

Easy to say but I'd be tempted to just drive the thing if you're enjoying it.

So Mr D can we conclude the lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng ratios aren't a big deal with the 3.8L sitting behind your head

Yes, enough of all this money talk. Let's get back to the important things like driving impressions and some more pics.

Got to be the best performance investment to get the ratios changed. The only flaw in the GT4 package that I know of. Would improve the 0-60 mph of 4.2 seconds (official 0-62 mph time of 4.4 seconds) to sub 4.0 seconds.

The money thing is totally irrelevant imo compared to pride of ownership and the driving experience. There are very few "mass produced limited run cars" that become instant classics with a price to match :ROFLMAO:

How it drives on or off track is fact but what its worth in five minutes time pure speculation and wishful thinking especially when there might shortly be 12 plus for sale at any given moment in time []

Ominously, MrD seems to have been rather quiet. After a day I'd at least been expecting a few positive (and negative?) comments.

Maybe he's been negotiating the best price with potential buyers. Or hopefully of course, he could just be out driving the wheels off it.

Come on D.....time to own up.

Jeff

Fear not Jeff, a recent quote from David on Pistonheads about his new car:

"the change of direction on this car is the wow factor, corner speed is crazy."

sounds like he's smitten to me [;)]

Let's hope so Steve.....although I note that post was late yesterday. Plenty of time for wobbling since then...!!
