Cayman GT4: Where are we up to now?

MrDemon said:
I am keeping it :) the corner speeds and change of direction is the key thing on this car like I posted after my track day.

245/295 in the mid engine platform is crazy footprint.

feel is no where near my R or my Spyder though esp in this wet weather.

Just wondering if you're happy with the ARB position, and I presume the steel brakes are up to the job - any squeal issues ??

cleaned it and put a coat of protection on it today :)

Very nice and I like them in yellow

been out in mine today (GTS) and gave it my first good blast as its only just about run in and was quite surprised at now well it went, love 3rd gear and the noise

still waiting to here if I am going to be lucky and get a GT4 when they make some more, if not then I might just be happy enough with the GTS, as it will spend 99.9 % of its time with me as a road car.

But even so I still want a GT4 lol

Looks very smart D. The yellow stitching sets off the interior nicely.

Good to see that you selected the smoking package and passenger footwell storage net options. The former gives a much neater centre console and the latter will be useful for holding maps and other documents....and they're free too.!

Incidentally, apart from both types of bucket seat being missing from the Configurator, I see that the black option for the rear wing supports has also gone. A mistake surely.

Looks very shiny & bright too - wish you happy motoring and just 3 questions for you today

Which coat do you use to protect

Which buckets do you prefer for comfort

Lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng ratios - I read the 3.8L makes them livable what says you

1: werkstat is great on light colours but alas they are no more

2: not sure which are the best for for me yet, both seem fine.

3: no idea as not done any B road blasts and keep below 4k atm time will tell if the car at 75mph and sub 4.5 k revs in 3rd then they will be annoying on B roads which is why I own these cars.

It will be better than any GT3 though for sure.

Many thanks and look forward to your views once run in and will be interesting to see if you felt the cost to switch from R to GT was worth it from a thrill factor [8D]

Cost to change would not be worth it,

but my R was like my Spyder so was getting a bit board of owning 2 cars the same for so long, the R's the longest I have kept a daily, it was amazing.

The GT4 was a no brainer, no risk buy for me, A: I get to keep my Spyder and B: it's worth £30k more than I paid for it atm !

best of both, I get to keep my older car and also get to try a new car at no risk.

much harder choice for people wanting a fun car and being forced to part with a 987.2 car as the 987.2 imo is more fun.

really happy with my 2 car garage atm.

Just had notification car will be at OPC today and to me on Thursday, just hope this weekends weather is as good as last weekends.

SteveJC

Still on a list a long way down probably for future batches after my opc made a cock up with my intention was not impressed at the time . After being upset annoyed outraged have put it out of my mind as I have a CR which is on the up price wise and good car to boot so not as fussed about it now.

So if I don't get a GT4 I will hang to the CR for now but it will probably be my last Porsche I will buy after poor dealings regards the GT4

For those lucky enough to have got the GT4 enjoy.

David - That looks totally "Epic" Carrara White with the contrasting Black is such a Classic "GT" Colour Scheme and after seeing yours i am now Moving toward that Colour scheme with the Stripes also ... Did OPC put them on or Porsche when car was getting built ..?

Noticed this was for sale on my visit to Solihull this morning. Sports Seats with yellow stitching. ( not mine )

I bet that one at Solhull even though it's in the new car showroom won't be sold for list. Might give Dan T a shout as see how much?

Can you tell me is this the basic white or the option white ?

can you post a picture side on so we can see the Porsche strip, interested how it looks for my Spyder.

After all the anxiety and waiting the car is now at home, wet and dirty from the drive back ( doesn't look it in the photo ), need to drive it more as at least 3 or 4 times on the way back I tried to change gear with the non existent paddles.

nice ;-) that's the 4th one on here now in yellow

feels a solid thing though, and auto blip is perfect although on my drive home I was also trying to heal and toe so Sports mode may not get used .

Yes D, yellow certainly is the #1 on this forum. I think we only have one red, one white and one silver declared so far..?

The car looks very nice Steve. Just don't forget what that third pedal and centre console stick are for..!

Jeff

Latest: Just noticed that we now have a Sapphire Blue car.
