GT Legends

You got the game delivered on a Sunday? Cool[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I can't do 7pm (eating). What about 9 or 9:30?[FONT=verdana,geneva"]

OK 9pm after Top Gear (gives me more time to practise [;)])

I'll start a new game then with the same name and password

If you can't get in to it, then post here straight away and we'll pick one of the public games but they are often full of kids who just enjoy ramming you off the track [:(]

I haven't unlocked anything yet, besides I'm having enough trouble controlling a Mini [:)]

What is the code to unlock everything btw?

1. Go into gtl/UserData/<Your own USERNAME>/
2. Open the .plr file with you user name with Notepad (make a copy beforehand)
3. Look for a line like this:
Vehicle Removal="30.00000" // Seconds until stationary vehicle is removed from track (sug: 30)

4. Set Vehicule Removal="0.00000"
5. Do the cup series in order:
a. use a car, go straight to the race.
b. wait until the start, see all cars go away
c. exit the race, you have won and collect money + bonuses
d. move on to next race/cup...

6. After winning enough cups to unlock cars/tracks, reset line in .plr to
"30.00000"
Vehicle Removal="30.00000" // Seconds until stationary vehicle is removed from track (sug: 30)Vehicle Removal="30.00000" // Seconds until stationary vehicle is removed from track (sug: 30)
Vehicle Removal="30.00000" // Seconds until stationary vehicle is removed from track (sug: 30)
7. Tedious procedure, but deliver the goods.

I kinda want to earn the cars but having to unlock tracks always hacks me off in these games.

In multiplayer mode you can use cars and tracks you haven't unlocked so thats good.

I hate actually 'playing the game', I only enjoy the multiplayer against real people so thank goodness you are not restricted to a mini around Anderstorp North (which is fun anyway)

I've created a PCGB chatroom in the main lobby - password is PCGBFORUM

Be very slow when typing - it seems to mess up a lot [&:]

See you in there

Wont be around this week (on a training course) and have to finish some work now, but have a copy of the game and will be up for it in the future. I nearly chucked the game thugh wouldn't work and I suspected graphics card so updated drivers which didn't work, kept asking me to try installing a basic VGA adaptor first which also didn't work - got back to original settings and eventually found the problem with the drivers in the copy protection software, updated drivers no more grief. managed a few games and I have a baby abarth now.

Presumably you need broadband to play this or can those of us out in the sticks with no hope of such modern technology join in too?

I will be up for it - when my steering wheel arrives - its rubbish trying to use the keyboard.
When is it going to be - still 8pm on Wednesday's ??

I'm using an ATI 9800 Pro 128Mb and it supports sufficient eye-candy for me at a decent frame rate (though there is more to come if I decide to upgrade). I'd say anything that was decent in the last 2 years will do it; you can even crank the 3D back to directX 7 if necessary. It ran like that at about 8fps on my (very much sensible business rather than flash toy) laptop.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I think dial-up will work - any GTR players confirm?[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]The chat is officially rubbish. Please download the TeamSpeak client and I'll host the server part and post IP and password details so we can actually speak to each other! It's very light on bandwidth and it makes a whole world of difference.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I'll also investigate a dedicated server that we might be able to connect to by IP rather than the SimBin online lobby system.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Good fun tonight all the same. Anyone got a setup for the Mini that doesn't swap ends under braking but is very "nervous" in cornering?[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

It was great to see Fen sideways all the time in a little Fiat Abarth with the engine hanging out the back [:D] - I'll post a video of the replay a bit later on.

I have a 2 year old PCI graphics card FX5200 128mb and it runs perfectly with everything switched on. There is a newer AGP version here which is £31.26

Make sure you have an AGP slot first though and also the "FX" models don't do Directx9 or 8 very well so run in DX7, it's much better for older cards.

You can really imporove the framerate by disabling Motec logging:

1. Go into gtl/UserData/<Your own USERNAME>/
2. Open the .plr file with you user name with Notepad (make a copy beforehand)
3. Go into your .PLR file and change "Show Motec in car = "1" to 0 and then the Show HUD in car to "1" that'll also give you more Frames Per Second. You really need to be over 25 fps to be able to control the car properly

I haven't played GTR on diallup but GPL used to work okay, you just had to get used to random and occassional disconnects from the game as it lost touch. Very frustrating if you were winning []
