I just drove the 'Ring in the Yellow Bird!

Just tried the Boxster, I used the default pink one as I thought it was fitting. Anyway 9:13 was the lap time, hampered by strong reflections on the TV screen as it's sunny here today. I think it's an easy sub 9 minute car to be honest. Now to try something hairy-chested...

Another tip I always use the external view (select button) as it makes it easier to tell when you are clipping the apexes and adds some 'feel' back that is missing in the game compared to real life.

Well my boys are FINALLY off the PS2 so its my turn again [:D] Think I'll try the 350Z tonight.

I just spent today helping a friend change his pads and brake fluid in preparation for taking his car to the Ring and leaving it there in a garage all season. To say that we have been talking Nordschliefe all day is an understatement [8|]

I need to go again soon.

The RS4 is a rubbish car [:D] Very easy to drive but I can't even get below 9mins with it
Get a red one - did an 8'36" first time out [;)]

I've still yet to manage a 'clean' lap in anything, but I have had to put up with my 3 1/2 year old co-pilot jumping about on my lap [:D]

Try the Vanquish - did 8'11" in that.

Jim.

Now I know why your times are so slow. The RS4 is a rubbish car [:D] Very easy to drive but I can't even get below 9mins with it, whereas I can easily with the Boxster.

RS4 in 8:42 for me ? can't be that bad can it ?

7:14 with the Toyota sumthingorother whatjamacallit

Been concentrating on getting the 4th license, number 15 is hard hard hard, a full lap of the ring in a rather tail happy 190 - touch the grass = FAIL, cut the corner too much = FAIL - I got to the last long straight and the concentration went, i drifted slightly onto the grass - didn't want to over correct too quickly at 165mph and it wasn't enough, the grass surface pulled it accross to get all 4 wheels on it - grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

MEMO TO SELF - must concentrate for longer, felt knackered after it, that was the 5th attempt, each one getting closer to completing it.

Has anyone else got the first 4 licenses yet ?

Has anyone got the Supercar license - if it's anything like GT3 one then it's only gor the die hard GT / PS2 fans

You mean there is other stuff to do apart from just dring round the 'Ring???? [&:]

I haven't looked at the rest of the game yet.

Did a 7:30 in one of the Nissan race cars - wow the corners get a bit blurry at that speed

Since I'm sitting at home suffering from flu, thought would put time to good use whilst boys out at school/college, wife on course, and get some laps in on GT4.

The Ginetta is a hoot, in manual mode, all tail out and ooops -lost it again....

The RS4 Avant is an easy and forgiving way to learn the 'ring, with traction control activated, although it dips like anything under braking, but it's sluggish gear changing must lose seconds!! Still managed some sub-9min laps though....

Pug T16's a laugh, just as good on tarmac as off. Started out with TCM off, but...relented and altered the default!!

I even managed to get the entry and exit into Karoussel right a couple of times!!

Finally got on to mine last night... managed to get 2 full laps in before the strife gave me grief about gaming at 11pm...

2nd lap in a 120d Auto 9:53

had a play with teh views but thought the cars looked too big!? Im sure the ring was wider than 2 cars when i was last there

7:34 in that NIKE car thingy, looks like a Sinclair C2 style but it beat the Zonda easy peasy, about 250+bhp and 750kg - it drives so so easily it not real, well there is an obvious statement, it is not real and drives far to well to be real - due date is 2022. Can't see me talking my wife into letting me get one though, it only has 1 tiny seat [:)][;)]

Whooohooo 7:13.5 in a 350z!

OK, OK it was a GT car derived from a 350z if you want to get picky.

Okay - since I don't have the game, and have no idea whether you have access to all the cars etc etc etc........

Are you GT4 guys impressed with Richard Meaden's challenge in this months EVO mag ~ to beat his 5:26.5 in the Nissan sports prototype thingy (RC8?) ?

That thing (R89C) is not for sale. Other cars "from the same dealer" so to speak carry price tags of up to 4,500,000 credits and you start the game with 10,000.

Because I have GT3 A-Spec also I managed to import 100,000 credits from that which enabled me to buy a '99 Skyline GT-R and breathe on it slightly to extract 600+bhp (in true Playstation style I spent all my money increasing the bhp and then had to win some more to buy decent suspension and brakes). I then had a professional drive it in a championship which he won, securing me the 350z-based Le Mans prototype as a prize and with that I won the Japanese GT series (or rather my man did [8D]). Although the prize was a (Nissan 350z again) JTCC car retailing for 1,350,000 it was only worth 286,000 to sell with zero miles (used car market in GT land is tough). My man also won the Tuner Car Championship and for that we got some Jap tuning house's 350z (again! and I don't even like the 350z) which is supposed to have 770bhp. I still only have 663,000 credits to my name though.

Pulled a 6:58 in an Astra [:D] last night - I could have gone faster but was a bit p one fifty fived after two Speckled Hens and a bottle of red [:)] - DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE KIDS!!!

Jim.

(Miffed that he can't import the 5 million he has stashed in GT2 [:'(])

What's the best car to use in the lightweight races, got to be under 3400mm long

Just getting some practive in before the GP, kind of got the alarm clock wrong [:)][;)]

I won!

A week of constant pressure has resulted in me waiting till 11am when Curry's open to go and buy a PS2 + GT4.

It's going to work out as the most expensive PS2 in history, as it's also costing me £150 worth of handbags[:D]

Gonna press for a steering wheel while you're on a roll?

I haven't tried the lightweight races yet Graeme.

Maybe you should, they are very v e r y v e r y s l o w . . . . . . . . . . . . . .... compared with any other car/races, i would suggest getting the small honda of the 90 used market and sticking a turtbo and NOS on it just to get it out the way, otherwise you may fall asleep [;)] even managed to get 100mph with the NOS on the long straight in one race [:(]
